Omar S. Amanat is a Muslim-American businessman who once headed a day-trading technology company called Tradescape which was later sold to E*Trade in a deal that involved a flurry of litigation between E*Trade and Amanat soon after the deal closed. Subsequently, Amanat went into the film industry as a financier.

According to New York State court records, Amanat is married to Muslim-American dentist Sabiya Amanat, with whom he has 3 sons, and, according to the Czech press, with Czech model Helena Houdová, with whom he has one son named Darien.
