Sarah Elizabeth "S. E." Cupp (born February 23, 1979) is an American political commentator and writer, co-author of the book Why You're Wrong About the Right with Brett Joshpe, and author of the book Losing Our Religion: The Liberal Media's Attack on Christianity.

Personal background

Cupp was born in Carlsbad, California and raised in Andover, Massachusetts. In 2000, she graduated from Cornell University, with a degree in Art History. While attending Cornell, she worked for her college paper, The Cornell Daily Sun. In 2010, she earned a master's degree in Religious Studies at New York University.

She is a classically trained ballet dancer and over a period of ten years danced with the Ellicott City Ballet, Washington Ballet, and Boston Ballet. She enjoys fishing and target shooting, and also follows NASCAR.


Journalist and commentator

In 2002, she was hired by the New York Times to write and edit for the Index Department. She is also a contributor to Politico.com's The Arena and a guest of Fox's Hannity, Fox & Friends, Strategy Room, The Young Turks and Red Eye w/ Greg Gutfeld. Her writings have appeared at The Washington Post, New York Daily News, Foxnews.com, The American Spectator, Townhall, Newsmax, Human Events, Slate, Maxim, The Daily Caller, SI.com, and CNN.com.

In 2009, she was hired as a columnist at the Daily News Online.
