Oba Chandler ‎ promoted

You nominated Oba Chandler (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) as a good article. I'm pleased to say that this morning I promoted it to GA status. Good work! AGK 12:51, 6 May 2010 (UTC)

Thanks!:)--ÅlandÖland (talk) 13:14, 6 May 2010 (UTC)

Oba Chandler

Hello AlandOland! I apologize for not replying to you sooner - I hadn't seen the first message, as it had apparently appeared at the same time as another and I only read the second one :( Congrats on the new GA, that article has been a work in progress for a long time and it is good to finally see it pass through the GA process! Dana boomer (talk) 13:42, 6 May 2010 (UTC)

Yes it feels great. It started as a badly written Stub and ended up as a good standard GA article. If it will be a Featured article only time can tell. Fantastic.--ÅlandÖland (talk) 13:44, 6 May 2010 (UTC)

I'm not sure why you're coming to me for advice on the article. But anyway, I don't have any specific things to say about it (which is usually the case); however, the article is perhaps a tad bit overreliant on the St. Petersburg Times website. It might help to diversify a bit. 27 of the 77 (35%) references are to that website. Also, you can merge a lot of the references using the WP:REFNAME method. Ray Alan

I've removed the recent death template, as it's not appropriate. See instructions at Template:Recent_death. William Avery (talk) 20:29, 24 May 2010 (UTC)

OK--ÅlandÖland (talk) 20:29, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
Even though this template is for articles sutch as Ray Alans. For people who has recently died.--ÅlandÖland (talk) 20:31, 24 May 2010 (UTC)

Nobel of X

Please take a look at the proposal I made in Talk:List of prizes known as the Nobel of a field to ensure the future quality of the list. Your comments would be much appreciated :) Cheers, Waldir 06:49, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

Stephen Griffiths

Hello. I don't want to undo any hard work, but please remember these are allegations at this stage. Thanks. -- zzuuzz 15:12, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

Yeah. sorry.:)--ÅlandÖland (talk) 15:13, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

Personal attacks

At what point did I attack you personally? Sorry, but I think you're very wrong about that. 91.106.120.165 (talk) 22:05, 30 May 2010 (UTC)

Your behaviour with 91.106.120.165

Hi. Please avoid attacking other editors like you did in ŧhis AFD. IP editors are editors just like registered editors. I personally would like every editor to register, but for now it is not so, and anyway being an IP is not a good reason to be attacked or treated like a second-class citizen. --Cyclopia 22:34, 30 May 2010 (UTC)

The treatment and personal attacks that you talk about should stop on both sides. Anyway im not interested in continuing any discussion about this IP adress because i have told him/her that we should stay away from each other.--ÅlandÖland (talk) 16:43, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
I've seen no attack from him; could you find a diff where there is an attack? Accusing falsely someone of personal attacks in an attack in itself. --Cyclopia 16:48, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
As i said i will not comment on this any further. Their is no point.--ÅlandÖland (talk) 16:48, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

Thanks

Here's some policy advice for you too. Wp:DONTBITE. Please don't assume anything about my own history of editing just because I'm using an IP address which changes every time I connect. 91.106.120.165 (talk) 22:00, 30 May 2010 (UTC)

I am restoring this comment, because it is perfectly legitimate. I have also pointed you at WP:BITE myself, over on the AfD. Being an IP is not a crime. Telling you to be nice to IPs is certainly not an attack. Blood Red Sandman 22:52, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
I took offence by the IPs comment to me to. But i have already told the IP that i will not contact him/her any further.--ÅlandÖland (talk) 16:43, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
An agreement to disagree and move on - I can live with that as a resolution to this. Blood Red Sandman 17:05, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
Yeah. I think that is the best solution when two editors doesnt agree. There is no point on continuing some sort of blame game. Cheers.--ÅlandÖland (talk) 17:10, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Edda Manga

The article Edda Manga has been proposed for deletion because under Misplaced Pages policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Misplaced Pages:Referencing for beginners or ask at Misplaced Pages:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Xtzou (Talk) 22:25, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

Eurovision 2011

I want to ask you: Was it you who deleted Switzerland from this area? Because I had a reference and it was deleted. And please say "I" with a capital letter and not with "i", it is so unofficial. I mean the personal pronoun. Cheers. SteliosGR {talk} 19:42, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

No it wasnt me. And besides you need to learn how to properly use Wikipedias different resources before you try to teach others. But I take your comment as a good thing.--ÅlandÖland (talk) 20:54, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

Eurovision 2011

I'm listening, but I'm having a hard time seeing excessive vandalism in the history. Show me some diffs and I might be convinced.—Kww(talk) 21:46, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

Someone else protected the article for a while. But thanks anyway.--ÅlandÖland (talk) 22:55, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

Question

Are you asking if I know how to replace the current DYK section with a section on GA of the day? To do this would require a significant consensus. I am currently a little hesitant. The people at DYK might not be too supportive. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 22:01, 3 June 2010 (UTC)

Yeah but where do you get that sort of consensus. I would assume that most people of Misplaced Pages would see it as a positive thing to have a new section up. When the current section DYK doesnt bring almost any attention from the editors, i mean 10% is to low and a TGA section would increase that number I can almost promise you. Just look at Todays featured article section, it has a enormous response. So how do we fix it?--ÅlandÖland (talk) 22:10, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
Couldnt we also make new space for this section further down. So we dont interrupt any other section. It could be lower down the main page. Just like on Swedish wikipedia.--ÅlandÖland (talk) 22:24, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
As i think that would benifit Misplaced Pages I would like it if you could fix this new section on the main page ASAP. But perhaps lower down on the main page without deleting any other section. Like Swedihs wikipedia.Thanks.--ÅlandÖland (talk) 22:29, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
I do not have that ability to make these changes but bringing it to the Village pump was a good place to start. It will take time to discuss.--Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 22:51, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
Ok. Yeah. Could you please make some more comment there. So the discussion moves on:) Thanks.--ÅlandÖland (talk) 22:52, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
It looks like this idea is getting lots of support. It does makes sense to have our best work featured on the main page rather than just random trivia. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 13:19, 4 June 2010 (UTC)

WP:RFC

Have you ever created a RFC? I agree that that would be the next step. Maybe draft it in your user space and I can look it over before you present it? Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 01:03, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
