Manomohan Acharya, a Sanskrit poet was born in the village Lathanga in Jagatsinghpur district in Orissa, India. He is a poet and lyricist with a number of books. His famous lyric Madhava-bhajanam is musically composed by A.R.Rehman and danced by Shilpa Shetty in the Indo-Chinese Movie, The Desire. His devotional songs are included in Bhakti Sangeeta C.D.of Prajnan Mission, viena.. Dr. Acharya is also a researcher of high order with many books and research articles to his credit. . He has edited 20 numbers of Books and Journals including Kavya Mohanadi,Directory Of Orissan College Teachers In Sanskrit, Sanskrit Poets Of Orissa and the Proceeding of All Orissa Association Of College Teachers In Sanskrit.He has been awarded by many National and International academies and organizations.Vanikavi Dr.Manmohan Acharya wrote his first poem in Oriya language and got it published in Sansaara at the age of 12 and wrote his first Sanskrit Poetry Palli-Panchaasika when he was 18.
