Maruvan is a film directed by Selvaraghavan. It stars his brother Dhanush in lead role, paired up with Andrea Jeremiah.
Production
The film was originally titled Idhu Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam and was launched in 2006, with a photo shoot being held for Karthi Sivakumar and Sandhya, however since then, the film failed to take off and Selvaraghavan and Karthi did the film Aayirathil Oruvan in place of it. The film, back then, had Arvind Krishna as the cinematographer and Yuvan Shankar Raja as the music director.
The film restarted on November 7, 2008 when a photo shoot with Dhanush and Andrea Jeremiah was held. Following his split with his original technical team, Ramji and G. V. Prakash Kumar have taken over the responsibilities of being the cinematographer and music director respectively. However, the film was shelved again for unknown reasons as Selvaraghavan started a new project titled Aayirathil Oruvan, which was released in January 2010.
The shooting for the movie began again on 27 June 2010 with the same cast, becoming the second time the shelved film was relaunched, but under a different title "Maruvan".
