Improper restoration of Kalki Bhagavan

Back on March 9 you restored this page that was deleted per a unanimous consensus at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Kalki Bhagavan with the summary "undo a really dumb deletion". You also restored the talk page of Oneness University which was similarly deleted at AfD. Can you explain how this isn't abusing your deletion/restoration tool? It appears that you didn't bother to discuss this with the deleting admins, or take the cases to DRV. ThemFromSpace 08:21, 25 April 2010 (UTC)

Quit whining about nothing and read the restored page yourself, complete with academic and media references. Shii (tock) 15:40, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
I don't think that was the proper attitude to take from a position of authority in a community-based environment. ThemFromSpace 20:11, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
And? Why did you bother leaving this message for me? Should I get out my violin for you? Shii (tock) 20:45, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
Because as an administrator you need to have a certain amount of civility when dealing with requests and questions on your editing. Your responses to me lack this, and your wheel warring on Talk:Oneness University is totally inappropriate. I have brought this situation up for further comments at ANI. ThemFromSpace 22:44, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
Jesus Christ, man, it's not like I insulted your mom or anything. The world's not going to end over a restored article. Shii (tock) 02:05, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

Free State of Galveston

FYI: I have renominated Free State of Galveston for FA. If you have any interest please feel free to comment.

File permission problem with File:2ch-aa.png

Thanks for uploading File:2ch-aa.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Misplaced Pages:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rockfang (talk) 01:53, 28 April 2010 (UTC)

The site appears to be in Japanese, so if there actually is permission visible, I apologise. I don't know Japanese.--Rockfang (talk) 01:55, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
This is a common copy-pasted image on the bulletin board linked to. There's nobody to get copyright permission from. It's like asking who created the "BUT WHO WAS PHONE?" message. Shii (tock) 03:41, 28 April 2010 (UTC)

Thanks!

Thanks so much for your support on Free State of Galveston. --Mcorazao (talk) 18:13, 4 May 2010 (UTC)

Another thanks

I just wanted to let you know I really like your notice about Antananarivo at the top of the Talk:Malamanteau article; what a perfect response to the whole thing. If it's not already, maybe it should be made into a template that picks a random article in need of improvement, to be posted to any threads that get too heavy on the navel-gazing. --Xkcd (talk) 15:31, 12 May 2010 (UTC)xkcd

Glad you liked it! Thanks for the comment! Shii (tock) 15:40, 12 May 2010 (UTC)

Misplaced Pages's tagline

Hi. I noticed that you participated in a 2005/2006 discussion and straw poll on whether or not the tagline at the top of all Misplaced Pages articles should be changed from "" to " that anyone can edit". I don't know if you're still interested in this issue or not, but this exact change has been proposed once again, this time at the Village pump, and there is currently an RFC (Request for Comment) on the subject where it is being discussed. All Hallow's Wraith (talk) 18:13, 13 May 2010 (UTC)

Religion, thanks!

I just want to say thanks for what you said at Talk:Religion. I appreciate that very, very much. --Tryptofish (talk) 17:36, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

Possible hoax.

I know that you catalogue notable hoaxes, so I'm just bringing to your attention Diosdada Alfrez, a unverifiable or non-existant Philippine writer, the article on whom has been recently deleted. I've preserved the article in its original state in my userspace. It survived five years, so may well be notable - information from the article was published as fact in a book - . Regards. Kappa Sigma

I saw your contributions at Kappa Sigma and I wanted to say that it is nice to see the article finally getting some attention from an administrator. There are serious WP:COI and WP:NPOV problems due to fraternity members controlling its content, so I hope you stick around and participate in its Talk discussion as well. Thanks! More unsourced edits

I asked you once not to make unsourced (reliably) edits to pages -- please refrain from making these edits. jheiv (talk) 19:31, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

I don't understand, is the group's own handbook not a reliable source? Shii (tock) 20:14, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
Please note that User:Jheiv is one of the Kappa Sigma members who has been desperately trying to control every detail of the Kappa Sigma article. He totally disregards the Conflict of Interest policy and even deletes simple capitalization and grammar corrections if made by a non-member! This kind of ownership of an article by it's subject's members cannot be allowed to continue.Adelphoi En Kardia Dia Biou (talk) 19:37, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

Wikileaks

Hi Shii, you mentioned that you "occasionally add stuff to Misplaced Pages based on what I saw on Wikileaks" -- I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but I'm curious what you think about the discussions on WP:RSN about material from wikileaks. Specifically and . I'm not challenging that practice (of adding material from wikileaks) -- just curious. If you think this is a challenge (etc), then feel free to ignore it. Regards. jheiv (talk) 04:13, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

The case of Kappa Sigma is worthy of an additional test, because a legal firm representing them claimed that the leaked document was Kappa Sigma property. But I think I will back down from including it in the article; its relevance to the subject seems somewhat peripheral, and it gets into the foggy area of sub-topic notability. I think the extra Google Books sources I found may contribute to the Founding section once it gets re-edited. Shii (tock) 05:45, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
I appreciate the response, and the other sources -- I hope to begin working on a user-space sandboxed version of the article, focusing on the history -- that section is in the worst shape by far. Thanks for the help and the response. jheiv 09:08, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

Trial Period?

Hi um..first, I want to thank you very much for giving me a chance to redeem myself after my past actions. I will not let you nor wikipedia down. But I do have a question, how long does my trial last before it is put up for review or just removed all together? I've made edits, some minor or moderate. I was just wondering is all. Oh and one last question, can I edit my main page even with a trial on it? --Akemi Loli Mokoto (talk) 14:29, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Oyasato-yakata

The article Oyasato-yakata you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needed to be addressed. If these are fixed within seven days, the article will pass, otherwise it will fail. See Talk:Oyasato-yakata for things which need to be addressed. –– Jezhotwells (talk) 14:43, 3 July 2010 (UTC)
