"GameCube 2", the next Nintendo console (still unnamed and currently officially referred to as Project Revolution, or by its codename N5), is set to be released around 2005, about the same time as Sony's PlayStation 3. There is not much information on the console yet and the official name is also unconfirmed.

The system is expected to be demonstrated at E3 in May 2005 . It is rumoured that the console may be backward compatible.
