Albert Arnold Gore III (born October 19 1982) is the son of former United States Vice President Al Gore and Tipper Gore and the grandson of former United States Senator from Tennessee Al Gore, Sr. He is best-known for being mentioned in an emotional vice-presidential nomination acceptance speech by his father during the 1992 Democratic National Convention. He, like his father, attended the elite Saint Albans School in Washington, DC, but he was expelled for marijuana possession at a school function. As a result he finished his secondar schooling down the road at Sidwell Friends School, where Al Gore Jr. could be seen at many a football game. Al Gore III graduated from Harvard University, his father's alma mater.

In April 1989, Gore was the victim of a near-fatal car accident while attending a baseball game in Baltimore, Maryland. Because of this and the resulting lengthy healing process, his father chose to stay near him during the recovery instead of laying the foundation for a presidential primary campaign against eventual Democratic party nominee, Bill Clinton.

On September 5, 2002, he was ticketed, but not taken into custody, for driving under the influence by military police near Fort Myer, Virginia; and on December 19, 2003, he was charged with marijuana possession in Bethesda, Maryland.
