Prometheus is a forthcoming film by Ridley Scott. The project began as a prequel to Alien, written by Jon Spaihts. However, after discussions with screenwriter Damon Lindelof, the project became an original film. Swedish actress Noomi Rapace will star as a scientist named Elizabeth Shaw, who is one of the film's five main characters. The studio wants either Charlize Theron or Angelina Jolie as Vickers, another co-protagonist. 'Alien' creature originator H. R. Giger will be involved with the film. Prometheus is set to be released on March 9, 2012.
