Adoption request

Hello QwerpQwertus.

I am very new to the site, Misplaced Pages and have been encountering all manner of difficulty building my article on my subject. In particular I'm stuck at citations, references, notability and image uploads. I have been directed to the adopt process. My subject is a currently active person, an artist/author/multi media individual. As such I have in mind that I would care to continue building on him as he progresses in his varied careers. My issues are with following...the, to me, confusing directives and multiple pages out there that I am sent to for guidelines etc. At this stage quite frankly I'm flummoxed! Any help?

I'd be happy to adopt you. For your article, this one I presume, I would first reccommend adding reliable third party references that will prove the subject's notability(importance, why deserve to be in an encyclopedia) and the article's accuracy. For a quick internet reference, you can use the following code.

I have now asked another party to follow the adoption advice (on my behalf) that you've laid out for me as I feel they will be more on the ball with these directives and they are professionally computer literate. This should ensure that I'm not riding your back continualy over the next days! Smile. For my part I will also redress sections of text that may still read as gushing. It will be far easier for me to work backwards as in third party endorsements of Jarrette's nominations for Outstanding Brightonian for the work he has done to help the community that he resides in currently. Would the committe head or the founder of the awards be suitable as the third party?I feel I was losing my way as I was pointededly critisised early doors by a Misplaced Pages editor peer for so many things including my refering to archived articles. It was questioned whether these articles were archived because they were "not published" when in fact it clearly stated in copy that indeed all archived work had been published and as in the case of the England's Prince Philip, the Queen's husband, the article was actually vetted by the Royal Family's aides. In fact that very Misplaced Pages editor claimed not to have completed reading the article as it "made his skin crawl". So I mentioned, again, at the top of the section that "all archived articles have been published" to rectify this and again it led to a bit more muddiness in layout I'm afraid. As in Jarrette's nationality. Thank you for correcting this but he remains a citezen of the UK and Trinidad and Tobago. This was always stated clearly in the final content of the article. Trinidad and Tobago is a dual island nation and it would be preferred that it was listed as such at the top. If it is to remain as it is, now corrected from Trinidad-American (which Jarrette is not) then it should also list his resindence in Sweden where he too held residency. So you see, I feel that the editors did not read but scanned my content before making their direct and damning remarks on the subject. Likewise their geopolitical knowledge is perhaps lacking as in the case of simply listing Trinidad on its own. This can be a touchy subject amongst that country's nationals. I would not care to cause offense to Jarrette and others. I felt as though there were too many seemingly biased or indifferent editors weighing in with negative opinions on a subject they knew nothing about and cared even less for. I sincerely began to consider going no further as I hold, as many do, this subject in high regard hence my desire to represent him here. Jarrette uses his profile and connections to help up and coming people himself these days in all walks of life and continuosly works at no charge as a presenter and host of events both large and small to raise monies for various charities associated with an assortment of businesses. A number of journalists, authors and columnists as equally unfamiliar with the workings of Misplaced Pages but au fait with the work of editors, who have been helping me to put this together were actually affronted by the vicious tone of some of my feedback. Perhaps this is a cultural grammar difference thing between the UK and the USA? One tends not to say "couldn't give a rat's ass..." over this way. You must laugh. Fair enough and enough of my complaining. I've digressed. Would it serve the article if I were to include the names or details, whathaveyou, of Jarrette's more accessible (current) editors/MD's that he works(ed) closely with? Would they be considered reliable and viable third party? Sorry for my vent here on your talk page. Apologies now if I've been inapropriate. I'll try too not to strain your generosity of time with me.

I've tried to do something, I'm sure it is wrong but the photographer Graham Franks has a website which I replaced citation need with and made it bold. Is this right? Likewise I think Tim C. Richardson has one. It is www.image-catcher.co.uk

Now citation needed for Jarrette's surgeon Grandfather, passed in late 1950's. I am trying to obtain a hospital with which he would've been closely affiliated in the West Indies as he travelled as needed to several island's capitals to tend to serious surgeries. This fact was included as Jarrette was born into a rather well off highly mobile family. Perhaps these backround details are irrelevant but I feel it goes a long way to show that he was well provided for from the beginning. This sets up his abilities to succeed and develop his talents unlike those who may have been less fortunate. I believe he, the Grandfather was trained at Edinburg University in Scotland England and am awaiting confirmation of this. Also, next to one school, Mertopolitan a private high school that he went to ( no longer there but was until the very early 80's I think)it says "who?" What is required here? Jarrette was given a certificate stating he was "most likely to succeed" on his graduation. Now, what would I replace "citation need" with in that instance? Next to his first Art show mention at La Galleria it asks "where?" That was an art gallery, La Galleria in St.louis Mo. I'm not sure of the suburb. It was curated by a one Betty Rogers. He had his first one man show there which did well and the local CBS affiliate KMOX TV did a news feature on him as a role model for teens and up and coming artist. How do I sort out the citation needed request there (up and coming artist)? Do I insert a website for the TV station or what?

What would I replace "citation needed" with when it says he landed high profile jobs in Manhattan fashion magazines (well they were national magazines)? There is a full list of nationally circulated US and international magazines straight after that claim starting with Mademoiselle. Would a website be needed for each and everyone? Eventually I thought some images of the actual pages with his editorial illustrations, press releases, interviews, and news paper features on him, his works and his exhibitions would go someway too, graphically/visually to establish his credibility on the page. Am I wrong in this assumption?

Okay. Sorry to ask these questions. I see that there are scads more claims that can be varified, hopefully to your standards, that have yet to be flagged one way or another. I have spoken to some of his editors who are happy to be third party for him. It is my belief that all involved, if still alive will be happy to represent him and I will attempt to see what I can do to acquire citation details for the more elusive items/people/companies etc that he has worked with over the decades.

Another Adoption request

This greeting is for QwerpQwertus!

I'm a writer and legitimate journalist whose work depends on investigative research and reliable sources. At Misplaced Pages, however, I'm only a rookie and need adoption! After considering all the editors available, you would be an ideal choice.

Among my plans is the creation of an article for author Marjorie Holmes. Her trilogy based on the birth and life of Jesus Christ remains popular, although controversial. Now that Robert Sterling & Karla Worley have created a musical based upon "Two From Galilee," it seems timely for Marjorie Holmes to be included on Misplaced Pages.

If she is WP:notable enough - you can start it as a WP:Userspace draft, at User:PURRfectly Perfect/Marjorie Holmes. WP:Your first article may help you. Delete Requests for Feedback??

Hello. I just saw a recent conversation you had with Christopher Connor about submitting articles for deletion based on their presence in the Request for Feedback page.

On a different note, can I request that a feedback request be deleted? I stumbled, I admit it. I moved too fast and my request is messed up. It is actually the very first request for the new year 2011.

Can you, or do you know someone who can, delete the improper request that I made?
