This user is asking that their block be reviewed:
Ted Wilkes (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
Please provide a reason as to why you should be unblocked.Change
{{unblock}}
to {{unblock | reason=your reason here ~~~~}}
Notes:
- In some cases, you may not in fact be blocked, or your block has already expired. Please check the list of active blocks. If no block is listed, then you have been autoblocked by the automated anti-vandalism systems. Please remove this request and follow these instructions instead for quick attention by an administrator.
- Please read our guide to appealing blocks to make sure that your unblock request will help your case. You may change your request at any time.
If you ask the blocking administrator to comment on this request, replace this template with the following, replacing "blocking administrator" with the name of the blocking admin:
{{Unblock on hold |1=blocking administrator |2=original unblock reason |3 = ~~~~}}
If you decline the unblock request, replace this template with the following code, substituting {{subst:Decline reason here}}
with a specific rationale. Leaving the decline reason unchanged will result in display of a default reason, explaining why the request was declined.
{{unblock reviewed |1=original unblock reason |decline = {{subst:Decline reason here}} ~~~~}}
If you accept the unblock request, replace this template with the following, substituting Accept reason here
with your rationale:
{{unblock reviewed |1=original unblock reason |accept = accept reason here ~~~~}}
I made no such violation. - Ted Wilkes 21:34, 26 February 2006 (UTC)
- As there is currently no template I know of for breaches of arbcom rulings I had to initially install the vblock template, save, then edit the page to change its details to cover the actual offence. A problem with the internet link (which went down for a couple of minutes) meant that I could not save the rewritten version of the template onto the page. The charge is not one of vandalism but an unambiguous breach of the arbcom ruling. FearÉIREANN\ 21:54, 26 February 2006 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:StephenBoyd.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:StephenBoyd.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Misplaced Pages because of copyright law (see Misplaced Pages's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Misplaced Pages are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Carnildo or ask for help at Misplaced Pages talk:Image copyright tags. Thank you.

Just FYI, the Carey who won the fellowship is the one who wrote the Crossley Baby, who does not have an article yet. --Etacar11 20:30, 30 January 2006 (UTC)

Did you know? has been updated. A fact from the article Tod Sloan, which you recently created, has been featured in that section on the Main Page. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page. |
Thanks Ted Wilkes!
Thank you for your contributions to the Edgar Ray Killen article. I saw all those contributions you had made from your user page...I think its about time you gain a barnstar so I posted one here.
Take care,

I, V. Molotov, hereby give you this Working Man's Barnstar for the several thousands of contributions you have made to Misplaced Pages.

Appreciation.
Just a note of sheer gratitude for your endless creations and additions to the biographies of silent film actors and actresses. It's very much appreciated by me, and your articles are always well-written and researched. Keep up the fantastic work, please! ExRat 09:28, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
Silent Film contributions
I second ExRat's emotion. I just noticed your recategorizations on Borden & De Putti this morning (great idea, by the way) and was notably impressed by your other contributions. I don't have the credibility to award medals or anything, but still thought I'd let you know your contributions are appreciated. Also, if you have a list of articles that you're waiting to start, feel free to post them either here or on my talk page, as it would be great to better organize the handful of wikipedians currently working on silent film. Or, alternatively, I can just sort through the stubs. Happy editing! Wencer 16:37, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
Pied Piper of Cleveland
Hi! Where did you find the image for the Pied Piper article? I've been trying to find images from that film for quite awhile. Cheers! 23skidoo 20:53, 7 February 2006 (UTC)
Violation of probation
With respect to the material you and User:Onefortyone have placed at User talk:Fred Bauder#Violation of probation.3F I don't have time to sort it all out. What we need is for a few administrators to take an interest. All I can suggest is that you post this material at Misplaced Pages:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents. If we can't get enough administrator interest in monitoring this we may have to revisit it and find solutions that don't require administrative attention. That however would probably involve solutions which would ban editing by one or both of you in the affected areas. Fred Bauder 18:02, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
Please check your WP:NA entry
Greetings, editor! Your name appears on Misplaced Pages:List of non-admins with high edit counts. If you have not done so lately, please take a look at that page and check your listing to be sure that following the particulars are correct:
- If you are an admin, please remove your name from the list.
- If you are currently interested in being considered for adminship, please be sure your name is in bold; if you are opposed to being considered for adminship, please cross out your name (but do not delete it, as it will automatically be re-added in the next page update).
- Please check to see if you are in the right category for classification by number of edits.
Thank you, and have a wiki wiki day! BDAbramson T 02:34, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

Hello
I see we are both "fighting the good fight" concerning the deletion of Time magazine covers. I still don't understand the legal argument, but I think they are saying that the license only allows the display of images in the article Time (magazine) --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) 02:17, 26 February 2006 (UTC)
Promotional images
I also discovered that you can email or snail a publicist and get a press kit containing images that are rights cleared for use in publication, it comes with a legal paragraph and states where it can be published. The snail mail ones are fun to collect.
Onefortyone
Re your comments on my Talk page] concerning Onefortyone (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log). He continues inserting text out of context to deliberately misrepresent the writing of others so as to promote his single Agenda that Elvis Presly was gay. Since the Administrators have done nothing, if Onefortyone continues, you will have to ensure that the Arbitration Committee takes action. Thank you. - Ted Wilkes 18:59, 25 February 2006 (UTC)
- I think the best thing for you to do is avoid getting involved in this area, let other editors deal with him. If an article is wrong for a while, it is not an earthshaking event. As the subject is not obscure others will take up the slack if you turn to other things. Lots of Elvis fans to contradict him and if a fuss results it will come to the attention of the administrators. We need to let the wiki process work. Fred Bauder 02:43, 26 February 2006 (UTC)
- I agree with Fred here. Particularly given that you've made edits recently that certainly stretch the limits of your probation. Ral315 (talk) 05:18, 26 February 2006 (UTC)
I think Onefortyone is correct that you are violating Misplaced Pages:Requests_for_arbitration/Wilkes,_Wyss_and_Onefortyone#Ted_Wilkes_and_Wyss_banned_from_making_homosexuality.2Fbisexuality_edits. Just let it go, there are thousands of others available to rein in Onefortyone. Fred Bauder 16:41, 26 February 2006 (UTC)

BlockedYou have been blocked for breaching your Arbitration Committee prohibition for 24 hours. That ruling was explicit: Ted Wilkes and Wyss are banned from making any edit related to a person's alleged homosexuality or bisexuality. The clauses "any edit" and "related to homosexuality or bisexuality" shall be interpreted broadly; this remedy is intended, for example, to prohibit correcting the spelling of "gay". Given that you have repeatedly and unambiguously breached the ruling a period of 24 hours is being imposed. If you breach this arbcom ruling again you will face a longer block. The arbcom decision is unambiguous: you are not allowed to edit anything relating to a person's alleged homosexuality on Misplaced Pages. If you breach this prohibition 5 times (including the breach that lead to this ban) you will be banned from editing Misplaced Pages for 1 year. Please do not erase warnings on this page.

Please discuss this issue with the Wikimedia Board of Trustees or Jimbo Wales if you feel that I have been unfair in my deletions. Thanks. - Ta bu shi da yu 14:30, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
Angelique move
I feel that your move of Angelique to Angelique (computer game) was unacceptable. While disambiguation may be a good idea, very few titles in the series have computer versions, and it started with a console release. Also taking into consideration that the series also compasses comics and animation which are well-known in themselves, "computer game" is a poor representation. Perhaps we could find a better term to use for identification? Alcy 06:17, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
