Desuetude
Please read the article at Desuetude. Someone has appended several paragraphs of material that is quite irrelevant. The material does not define the meaning of desuetude, but rather repeatedly misuses the word in a series of comments made with a distinct, non-neutral political point of view.
Rather than reverting my changes and labelling them vandalism, please read the discussion I posted or read the actual material and see for yourself that it is inappropriate. This is not really a judgement call - it is plainly wrong. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.139.71.69 (talk • contribs)

My RFA
Hi Nakon/archive3, thanks for participating in my RfA discussion. Unfortunately, my fellow Wikipedians have decided at this time that I am not suitable to take on this additional responsibility, as the RfA failed with a result of 66/27/5 (71.0% support). If you voted in support of my request, thank you! If you decided to oppose me at this time, then I hope that if I do choose to reapply in the future, the effort I will make in the meantime to improve and expand my contributions to Misplaced Pages may persuade you to reconsider your position. All the best, Proto t c 15:29, 2 February 2006 (UTC)

Abbopa
Naconkantari, User:Abbopa has vandalized more pages, namely Additive, CIBU-FM, Westphalian language and some of their talk pages. Since you have previously placed a warning on his talk page, and I do not know how to handle these situations (beyond reverting), I would appreciate if you could take the next step. Thank you very much; if you can explain to me what to do in such situations, please let me know. (I read Misplaced Pages:Vandalism and a lot of other pages but could not quite understand ... sorry). Boris Alexeev 04:47, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
- I would be happy to help. The appropriate way is to place a warning on the user's talk page, usually by adding {{subst:test2}} or {{subst:test3}}. If they continue to vandalise Misplaced Pages, the next step is to list them at WP:AIV. This will bring the matter to the attention of an administrator, and they will take the appropriate action. Thanks --NaconKantari e|t||c|m 04:53, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

Tony Binns
This text is original. If you read the biography at Sussex University fully, you will find that it bears no resemblance to the article I wrote, and is, in fact, outdated. If you had allowed me to complete the article, you would have found this out!Helzagood 21:53, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

While the entire article may not be copied exactly from the website, this part looks like an exact copy, save for a few omissions. --NaconKantari e|t||c|m 21:59, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
Well, I didn't even look at that site when I was writing the article, so either it is a coicidence, or there is indeed only one way of writing the same thing(!), I shall, nevertheless try to re-word it to make you happy, but I have honestly not copied it!!Helzagood 22:03, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
- I am going to assume good faith and cease reverting edits made to the article. I would like to ask, however, for you to consider revising parts of the article so that they do not seem like a copy-and-paste from other websites, as other editors may see the article as a copyright infringement and remove it. Hey, Naconkantari, I wanted to thank you for your support of my (unfortunately unsuccessful) request for adminship. The final tally was 37/16/5, which fell short of the needed 75-80% for "consensus". Unprotecting fantasy football (american)
Hello,
I notice you unprotected the Fantasy Football (American) article, and as I expected, someone has already tried adding his/her link to the site. Editing it will just result in the edit wars that have been ongoing over the past few months, which is why I think the article should stay protected. --Blahblah44 06:10, 7 February 2006 (UTC)
- I am not an administrator, so I can not unprotect pages. The unprotection was done by an administrator who left the tag on the article. I removed the tag, since the article was not protected.
Joke's RfA
Hi Naconkantari, thanks for voting in my (successful) RfA. All the voters who voted neutral or oppose had the same criticism – lack of involvement in the Misplaced Pages namespace. This is nice, because it is a weakness that I can endeavor to fix. Although I don't think I have the disposition or diligence to be actively involved with, say, VfD, I've recently started to participate in the Featured Article discussions and will start participating in some policy discussions now that I am starting to grasp the way the project runs. –Joke 16:48, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

OK, I know, I know- It is probably common knowledge that Mars has a population of 0. I probably shouldn't have added that in Template:Planet Infobox/Mars. But, one day, there may be people that live on mars, but Misplaced Pages is not a crystal ball, so I shouldnt've added that. Yet.
Although, there may be people who (believe it or not) do not know that. I once heard a statistic (which I'm not sure wasn't made up) that 50% of the american populace knows that Earth circles around the sun and it takes a year to do it.

Another Esperanzial note...
Hi again Esperanzians! Well, since our last frolic in the realms of news, the Advisory Council has met twice more (see WP:ESP/ACM2 and WP:ESP/ACM3). As a result, the charter has been ammended twice (see here for details) and all of the shortcuts have been standardised (see the summary for more details). Also of note is the Valentines ball that will take place in the Esperanza IRC channel on the 14th of February (tomorrow). It will start at 6pm UTC and go on until everyone's had enough! I hope to see you all there! Also, the spamlist has been dissolved - all Esperanzians will now recieve this update "newsletter".
The other major notice I need to tell you about is the upcoming Esperanza Advisory Council Elections. These will take place from 12:00 UTC on February 20th to 11:59 UTC on February 27th. The official handing-over will take place the following day. Candidates are able to volunteer any time before the 20th, so long as they are already listed on the members list. Anyone currently listed on the memberlist can vote. In a change since last time, if you have already been a member of the leadership, you may run again. Due to the neutrality precident, I will not vote for anyone.
Yours, as ever, Esperanzially,

Thanks for taking the time to vote in my RfA, which passed with a final vote of 54/2/1 despite my obvious inadequacy for the job. I'll do my level best to use the mop and bucket — or, as I said in my RfA, plunger — responsibly. Of course, in the best tradition of politicans everywhere, I've already broken a campaign promise (I blocked a vandal last night despite having said "I don't anticipate using the blocking tool very often"). Nevertheless, I'll try not to let the unbridled power corrupt me. —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 14:56, 14 February 2006 (UTC)

Shining Time Station
Hello, I am confused about this article since you, I, and an anon user decided to edit this article at around the same time. Let me try to explain what happened. I reverted the page back to an obviously better revision. Then, I tried to fix the episode listings for Season 1. However, the anon user changed all the "Thomas stories" in Season 1 to "Oliver Owns Up". So, thinking this was true, I added that info to my second edit of this page and clicked "Save Page". In the meantime, you reverted the incorrect info of this anon user. So, I apologise for unknowingly re-putting the incorrect info on the page. If you do not change it then I will tomorrow or so; you don't have to since it's technically my fault. It happens... anyway have a great day. EdGl 03:46, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

I've been butting heads with this guy for two days now. I see you're trying to help. The Pax Romana (music) article was previously Speedied but I don't know how to find out when. This guy's sole purpose is to promote himself and his band. I'm trying to find out what I as a user (about a month now) can do in situations like this. I'm trying to learn how to get people to play nice and what to do when they don't. Maybe if I can figure all this out I'll have admin aspirations by summer. Until then I just want to help out when I see a problem like this. Guidance?
— Bill W. (Talk) (Contrib) – February 18, 2006, 03:28 (UTC)
- You can check when the article was deleted and the reason by searching the logs. The article currently falls under CSD A7, because it does not assert how the band is notable. If the editor disagrees, you can send the article to Articles for deletion, and the Misplaced Pages community will decide what to do with the article. NaconKantari e|t||c|m 03:31, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
- Well, now the page is gone again (Yay!), but searching the logs still doesn't show it. Anyway, sorry if I was unclear in my earlier post, but I do understand the normal deletion processes. I had even searched the logs for the article prior to writing here. My main question here (which I seem to have successfully obfuscated) was about how to handle the user. I couldn't find an appropriate warning to give him regarding the repeated vandalism of the Pax Romana page. So, regarding the user, what's the right thing to do?
— Bill W. (Talk) (Contrib) – February 18, 2006, 04:07 (UTC)- The right thing to do would to be to just ask him to stop, without using a template. Tell him that the band's entry does not follow Misplaced Pages's band notability guidelines and that he should consider recreating the page when they do. Hi, I was just wondering if you would like to sign this petition. It's a petition for getting the original voice actors back for the Sonic games (instead of the Sonic X voice actors). 71.105.13.135 01:23, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
- No thanks, I don't really care for online petitions. NaconKantari e|t||c|m 03:25, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
Okay, but if you ever change your mind, don't hesistate to sign it. --71.118.80.208 00:50, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

You are asking me something, I didn't ask you anything. I will do what you've requested, but I'm just asking you to read and pay attention, after your request.

It looks like Gastrich created User:Narconcantari to use as a sock. I bring this to your attention since you may want to get this User name deleted or permanently blocked. David D. (Talk) 04:13, 19 February 2006 (UTC)

Just a note about User talk:Kerrysfrench-sockpuppet
True to his name, he is a sockpuppet, but he's not the first sockpuppet. See also: Kerrysfrench (the original account), Kerryisfrench (sockpuppet), and KerrysMexican (second sockpuppet). He only hits Green Day pages, and is being watched by both Alhutch and I. Next time he vandalizes, just place a notice on the AIAV, and he'll be blocked, just mention his past sockpuppetry =) Kareeser| 19:01, 19 February 2006 (UTC)

My RfA
Thank you for your support of my request for adminship. I'm delighted that the RfA ultimately succeeded with a final consensus of 52/1/0, so I am now an administrator. If you ever have any comments regarding my editing, or I can help you at any point in the future, please feel free to leave a message on my talk page. Again, thank you! └/talk 11:04, 21 February 2006 (UTC)Naconkantari Guy keeps Editing Saw 3
I keep trying to delete this guys edits on the Saw 3 page, he keeps posting false actors on purpose and then goes to IMDB and tells everyone about it. Lock the Saw 3 page or somthing.
- I am not an administrator, so I can not lock the page from editing. It is more effective, however, to block single editors from editing a page than protecting the page from editing by everyone. If the user continues to vandalise the page, he will be blocked in accordance with Misplaced Pages's blocking policy. Thanks Naconkantari e|t||c|m 22:10, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

Tv316 would like to nominate you to be an administrator. Please visit Misplaced Pages:Requests for adminship to see what this process entails, and then contact Tv316 to accept or decline the nomination. A page has been created for your nomination at Misplaced Pages:Requests for adminship/Naconkantari 2. If you accept the nomination, you must formally state your acceptance and answer the questions on that page. Once you have answered the questions, you may post your nomination for discussion, or request that your nominator do so.- Thanks for nominating me, but I am going to have to decline. I've seen plenty of good administrator's RFAs fail because they have not waited the customary three months before pursuing nomination. If you'd like to renominate me, I'd be most appreciative anytime after March 13. Thanks Naconkantari e|t||c|m 00:34, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
- I was not previously aware of the three month rule, but will keep that in mind from now on. I will most definately renominate you in March if someone doesn't beat me to it. tv316 00:37, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
- You could count me as a supporter as well. Keep up the good work, and thanks for reverting the vandalism on my user page! Hamster Sandwich 18:26, 22 February 2006 (UTC)

Hello. I noticed that you added the {{prod}} tag to this article without comment. I have moved it, therefore, into AfD. I invite you to comment on the article's AfD page. Thanks! James084 02:58, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
More anti-vandalism thanks
Sorry to be boring, but this is yet another thank-you for your sterling work in reverting vandalism, including on my own user page. I spent a bit of time trying to revert vandalism last night and you beat me nearly every time - man, you are fast! Thanks again and keep up the good work. Waggers 10:51, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
Vandalism incorrect reversion
Hi, I noticed that both in microcomputer and minicomputer, you attempted to revert vandalism, but had not reverted back far enough, reverting instead to an earlier (but still vandalised) version. Subsequent vandalism was then reverted to the (NOT) "fixed" version.
Since many people would have assumed that the vandalism had been fixed correctly, and would have checked the diffs based on subsequent versions, it's therefore possible that the first vandalism could have slipped through and remained unnoticed until someone re-read the entire article.
Therefore, please use the history list and ensure that where the vandal has made two or more edits in a row that you revert to the version *before* they started editing. It would also be advisable to ensure that previous reversions have been done correctly.

- BTW, sorry if this came across as being overly critical or patronising. I appreciate your efforts in fighting vandalism, and it's not like I'm perfect myself :-/ Fourohfour 22:38, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
Nomination for Adminship
Naconkantari, I am impressed. I honestly believed that you were an admin - simply by the activity and vandalism patrol, only to be shocked into finding that you were indeed not an admin. Would you accept an RfA nom from me? --Jay(Reply) 21:25, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry, but as I have said before, I do not wish to pursue adminship until after March 13 (three months my since account was created). Thanks, and I hope that if you still want to nominate me, you can do so at that time. Naconkantari e|t||c|m 21:28, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
- I'll mark it on my calendar. --Jay(Reply) 21:40, 22 February 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for voting! Although this is a bit late in coming, I want to thank you for voting (no matter what your vote was) in my recent request for adminship. You might be aware that it did not pass due to a lack of consensus. The final tally was 21/9/10. I think I will try again this spring or summer after I have gained a bit more experience and met a few more fellow editors. Thanks again! |

Hi Naconkantari, these users: DeathBringerX, 24.57.6.44, 216.221.81.98 and 67.70.116.66 have vandalised the article Paul Wei. I've already reverted their edits; Can you please block these pranks for me to stop this nonsense continuing? Thanks.-- Sam, 25 February 2006
- Sorry, but I am not an administrator, so I cannot block editors. If they continue to vandalise, please ist them at WP:AIV and an administrator will take the appropriate action. Thanks Naconkantari e|t||c|m 16:50, 25 February 2006 (UTC)

I Got a problem
The User:SPUI has not only vandalized Misplaced Pages:Vandalism in progress/Squidward, but I consider his user page to be extremely obscene. I would like you to look into this and tell me if this user is violating Misplaced Pages standards or not. Reason being is my standards of obscene are set pretty high and I would like you to make a judgement call. Now User:SPUI just reverted to hus vandalism. If I revert in again then I would be pushing the 3RR Rule or would I? Thank You (Steve 02:12, 27 February 2006 (UTC))
- Sorry, but I am not going to get involved with metters regarding SPUI. Please list the problem at WP:AN and an administrator will deal with it. Thanks Naconkantari e|t||c|m 02:16, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

- Just because your user page was vandalised by User:SCOTTisHERE , it does not mean that you are free to vandalise his in return. Please handle disputes appropriately. small note
i wasn't truly "vandalizing" like one might expect, I added "Chuck Noris" and "The Daniel da Silva Experience" to the band list on my friend's use page, he knew I did it 10 seconds after I did, and he thought it was funny. He was planning on reverting it if you hadn't done so first.
thanks
