Template:AddAustralia has a long history of Indigenous genocide denialism, with the country's treatment of its Aboriginal population being one of the most notorious examples. Since the arrival of European settlers in the late 18th century, the Indigenous peoples of Australia have faced systemic violence, displacement, and discrimination. Despite overwhelming evidence of the atrocities committed against them, the Australian government and many members of the public have been reluctant to acknowledge the full extent of the genocide that took place. This denialism has manifested in various ways, from downplaying the severity of the violence to shifting blame onto the victims themselves.
One of the most glaring examples of Indigenous genocide denialism in Australia is the reluctance to recognize the Stolen Generations as a form of genocide. The Stolen Generations refers to the practice of forcibly removing Indigenous children from their families and communities, with the aim of assimilating them into white society. This policy, which was in place for over a century, had devastating consequences for the Indigenous population, resulting in widespread trauma and loss of culture. Despite the overwhelming evidence of the harm caused by the Stolen Generations, many Australians continue to deny or minimize the impact of this policy, perpetuating the erasure of Indigenous experiences and contributing to the ongoing marginalization of Aboriginal communities.

Hey Foxy Moxy!!
Yeah, buttering you up!! I got a request from a really nice guy, User:Kohoutek1138 who is working on the article for The Byrds. Since I still don't know about what's involved in a GFDL license-- can you point me the way??? Anyway, I mentioned the practical liklihood that isn't in his favor finding a complete band photo for them (especially one with Gram Parsons in the lineup-- which has been a wet dream just looking for a free use photo of him at all)! Thus, I told him to check into Flickr which is mostly where I look, contact the photographers from some website photos he found, and last and very much not least, to get in touch with you if it's at all possible to create another band montage like you did when I came to you with the same problem for The Rolling Stones' band photo. If you'd be kind to him, (and you always are), thanks! --Leahtwosaints (talk) 19:38, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

Moxy, for consistancy, please create pages for 1714 and 1727, even if it reads "No records have been established at this point, however, for matters of consistancy, the creation of this article page has been established." Best, --Discographer (talk) 03:19, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

I saw you have been really active lately and I clicked on over to your user page and was pretty impressed. Would you be interested in helping with the WP:Online_Ambassadors program? A couple of thoughts
Hey Moxy!! I was wondering- when I upload superior photos than ones to the portals you created, do you want me to tell you? And, do you know how to make sound clips for articles? Would you be willing to do so? Just wondering. Also, what's a rollbacker? Yeah, I know I should know, but I have limited contact with other editors. Thanks. --Leahtwosaints (talk) 11:38, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
Contents pages navigation proposal
Hi Moxy, based on your involvement at Portal:Contents/Portals, I thought you also might be interested in this.
A proposal to add topical links to all of the contents pages has been made. As part of that proposal, the navigation bar at the top of these contents pages would look like this.
- Overviews
- Outlines
- Lists
- Portals
- Glossaries
- Categories
- Vital articles
- Featured content
- Good articles
- Indices
- A–Z index
- Reference
- Culture
- Geography
- Health
- History
- Human activities
- Mathematics
- Nature
- People
- Philosophy
- Religion
- Society
- Technology
Please respond to the proposal, Portal talk:Contents#Adding topical links to contents pages navigational headers and footers, as you see fit. Regards, RichardF (talk) 02:07, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

help please
hello moxy - i don't know what the problem is; it seems like it is a simple thing to edit on the list that i keep adding my name to ( i am a singer/songwriter trying to get on the Canadian musicians' list). every time i do it, it is removed next time i look. i'm not sure where this message will end up - i am a low-tech person. hopefully your answer and explanation, and guiding knowledge will be in a place that i will see and be able to access. thank you Wikidwich (talk) 23:28, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

Chinatown: Slumming, Gambling, Prostitution and Opium
Hi Moxy;
I've posted a comment on the talk page of Chinese American history concerning the new section, 5 Chinatown: Slumming, Gambling, Prostitution and Opium.
Since you welcomed the editor, I thought I might ask you if my comment seems out of line or whether I would be justified in undoing the section.
Many thanks in any case ch (talk) 06:38, 2 February 2011 (UTC)
African diaspora
Please stop referring to edits you don't like as vandalism. Take a look at WP:Vandalism#What is not vandalism.
User:Analyzer99 left a message on Talk:African diaspora explaining his/her changes. You should discuss your problems with those changes on the Talk page as well.
Thank you. — Malik Shabazz /Stalk 21:29, 2 February 2011 (UTC)
- I guess its not Vandalism per say but..in my view its very disruptive editing. Hes been told to stop this and has been banned for it. TO be honest think i will just let the kids deal with this one for now (like was done here just today. But thank you for your time Moxy (talk) 21:33, 2 February 2011 (UTC)
- I'd like to put an end to this, and if Analyzer99 is the problem, I'll deal with him/her. What did you mean when you wrote on Analyzer99's Talk page "After looking at your edits closer I see a much bigger problem"? Thank you. — Malik Shabazz /Stalk 21:45, 2 February 2011 (UTC)
- We have been talking about this over the past few days since he/her has been back from his ban..what is concerning is edits that involve the removal of text that is referenced. i.e 1 - i.e2. The editor has been taking a side in the never-ending discussion of who's really an African and simply removing material and links to Black articles. Now should this stuff "may" require removal "possible" - but the way its being done is not proper nor is there rarely an edit summary as to Y text and refs were removed and/or links simply unlinked. I am not taking a side on this simply making sure the what has been long standing definitions and wording is not changes all over at a whim to the view of one editor.Moxy (talk) 21:54, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

- Okay, thanks. I'll keep an eye on Analyzer99's edits. — Malik Shabazz /Stalk 22:02, 2 February 2011 (UTC)
- PS sorry i was a bit rude at first....Having a bad day,,the kid needs cash again (at 30 years old) and i guess my edit summary was reflecting emotions from a private matter.Moxy (talk) 22:12, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

List of Governors General of Canada
Moxy, this link for Guy Carleton, 1st Baron Dorchester should be the same, right? He's listed twice in link form under his own name, then under his title. This is not correct, is it? Might you have a look at this, please Moxy. Thanks! Best, --Discographer (talk) 00:00, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
- Makes sense to me what your saying...ask User:Miesianiacal he would know best...Actually i will leave him a note to see this message.Moxy (talk) 00:06, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
- It is correct as it stands: Carleton was known as Sir Guy Carleton before 1786 and as the Lord Dorchester after. --Ħ MIESIANIACAL 01:08, 8 February 2011 (UTC)
References
Perfect timing with the references. I am actually typing up a new history section for Newfoundland and Labrador into microsoft word at the moment. Thanks! Newfoundlander&Labradorian (talk) 20:04, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
- Never new you could have test pages, makes it much easier. Newfoundlander&Labradorian (talk) 20:09, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
I'm unsire about how detailed to be for the history section. I noticed that Manitoba has a fairly long history section so I figured I'd try to give a good bit of detail. I don't understand that much and am not that interested in the earlier history, I don't know if that is something you would be interested in looking at after I finish with the Dominion of Newfoundland and Confederation section? Newfoundlander&Labradorian (talk) 21:00, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
- I have written most of the history section in my sandbox, I have yet to write anything about Newfoundland and Labrador after confederation but I think that will only require a paragraph or two. If you would like to check it over that would be great, I haven't done much reviewing or editing so it may be a mess. :) Newfoundlander&Labradorian (talk) 19:35, 6 February 2011 (UTC)
When I get the confederation part done should I post this on the main article or wait for more input? Newfoundlander&Labradorian (talk) 20:54, 6 February 2011 (UTC)
Would you be able to read over the lead of the Newfoundland and Labrador article and give me some tips of how to improve it? If it needs improving. Newfoundlander&Labradorian (talk) 03:41, 10 February 2011 (UTC)
- That would be one of the things i am not at all good at :-( .Moxy (talk) 03:43, 10 February 2011 (UTC)
- Jumping in, if I may...I took a stab at copy-editing the lead here; feel free to revert if you don't like the changes. The only thing I'd suggest is make sure each major heading of the article is at least mentioned in the lead - at the moment, you don't seem to have any info on economy, transportation or culture (assuming that the language issue will eventually be covered under Demographics). It's also a good idea not to mention anything in the lead that you don't intend to talk about in the main article. Hope that helps! Nikkimaria (talk) 05:04, 10 February 2011 (UTC)
I was planning on starting something else in my sandbox and while I do have the material we worked on added to its main page I didn't know if I should just delete it all from my sandbox or if there is something else I could do with it. Newfoundlander&Labradorian (talk) 00:47, 21 February 2011 (UTC)

Help Needed
Hi Moxy, since I've seen you in the WikiProject Country Music, I was wondering if I've could get some help from you. I've been lately working in the article of Willie Nelson, that I want to improve and nominate to good article. It does need some cleanup and sourcing, and beacuse of its size and importance to the project it would be better if there's some more people involved. I will also contact other members of the project. Thanks for your time and hope to hear from you. --Gduwen (talk) 17:50, 6 February 2011 (UTC)
- Glad to have you on board, I've been working today in early life and early career currently. There are some interesting sources in Google books to check out. We should start dividing the sections between the people that works on the article to avoid edit mistakes. --Gduwen (talk) 20:02, 7 February 2011 (UTC)

Blondie: The Florence Ballard Story
Oh no, Moxy, this new article-to-be is supposed to be about the upcoming new movie, of which is based upon the book. It will star Faith Evans as the Supreme dreamgirl Florence Ballard. I'm not good at creating these type of articles, so I'm trying to find someone who could. Thanks! Best, --Discographer (talk) 00:07, 8 February 2011 (UTC)

Problem with petergriffin9901 regarding Celine Dion, again.
If you have time, please take a look at this. He obviously doesn't understand the meaning of verifiability. Who is he to say that proven reliable sources are "wrong?" His statements are borderline biased. Frankly, I believe he's just trying to find a way to de-legitimatize the statement. There is no rule in place to specifically cite the sources (which are already at the end of the statement) at the beginning. If his argument was valid, then every source would have to have that format, regardless of the reliability of the sources given. It doesn't make any sense, and he has no authority to dictate what is true or false. BalticPat22Patrick (talk) 23:25, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
- You are correct his original reasoning behind the change is wrong...However as per Misplaced Pages:Manual of Style (words to watch)#Puffery and Misplaced Pages:Manual of Style (words to watch)#Unsupported attributions... We should be saying who has said this (since ther seems to be a few different sources saying different things).Moxy (talk) 02:39, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
- Well, he already reverted the statements, so I added two more reliable sources to the "contested" statement. Also, this is not an issue in any other WP article where the words "five octave vocals" are included, only Celine Dion. Peter has no problem not doing the same exact thing to Mariah Carey's article which explicitely states that she possesses five octaves, without any disclaimers to otherwise refute that sentence. If need be, you interveneing (your authority is much more pronounced than mine) would be greatly appreciative. Honestly, I don't think Peter cares what I say or do, so it's basically useless on my part. BalticPat22Patrick (talk) 18:22, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

Find A Grave
Hi, I draw your attention to the last sentence of the Misplaced Pages guidelines.
Find-a-Grave See also: Template:Find a Grave As an external link: Generally no. Rarely, a link is acceptable because of a specific, unique feature, such as valuable images and location information of graves, that is not available elsewhere.
The location information of Haim's grave is not published elsewhere.
It seems especially unfair when EL's to Find-a-Grave continues to go unchallenged on these celebrity Wiki pages: Heath Ledger, Brittany Murphy, Patrick Swayze, Brad Renfro
...and many, many others, including Old Hollywood stars.
And, no, I'm not alerting you so that you can take them all down ; )
--Tarrant on Wiki (talk) 00:57, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
- Having a few pics of a grave is not a good enough reason to link to a page with copyrighted image - and its a copy of this entry here. Pls see WP:COPYLINK and Misplaced Pages:Mirrors and forks. I do have a suggestion...Perhaps you can upload a grave image here and we can add it to the article.Moxy (talk) 01:07, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
- For what its worth I also don't agree with the mass removal of the find a grave links thats currently going on. There is absolutely nothing wrong with most of these being in the External links section unless we know they contain copyright violations or that the information is incorrect. --Kumioko (talk) 01:15, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
- Agree..but you must admit that this does not even come close to meting any of the criteria at Misplaced Pages:External links.Moxy (talk) 01:21, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
- I agree with that one actually and for the case of quite a few of the Major Celebs its easy enough to find the info. The ones I have a problem with are the ones that are a hard to find details on such as lessor known actors and sports figures, Medal of Honor recipients, politicians, etc. For folks like that one, Albert Einstein or any number of others whose life has been chronicled in great detail it may not be so useful. But since the Essay was written (its not a policy or a guideline) more and more peope have been using it as a bludgeon to crush those "pesky find a grave links". --Kumioko (talk) 01:37, 26 February 2011 (UTC)

Joni Mitchell at AllMusic
I recently noticed that the external link to Joni Mitchell's page on at the AllMusic guide had disappeared. I couldn't find an explanation in the edit summaries, so I went through the edits one by one and found that you had removed it in this edit: http://en.wikipedia.org/search/?title=Joni_Mitchell&diff=next&oldid=413519352 Why did you remove the link to the All Music guide? I find it helpful to have that link on most musician's pages. FurrySings (talk) 04:58, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
- Interesting...It was the bot that removed it - i guess because its used as a reference (#4). No doubles i guess its a refe or its an external link - no need to have it 2 times. Moxy (talk) 05:02, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
