Senta (Serbian: Сента or Senta, Hungarian: Zenta) is a town and municipality on the bank of the Tisa river in the North Banat District district of Vojvodina, Serbia and Montenegro. The town has a population of 20,363, whilst the Senta municipality has 25,619 inhabitants (2002 census).

Ethnic groups (2002 census)
All local communities have Hungarian ethnic majorities. The Hungarian ethnic community forms an absolute majority in the Senta municipality: 20,587 people (80.51%). There are also 2,739 (10.71%) Serbs, 581 (2.27%) Roma, 392 (1.53%) Yugoslavs, and others.
With the population of 20,363, the town of Senta is the largest settlement in Vojvodina in which ethnic Hungarians form the absolute majority.
Politics
The mayor of the municipality is Attila Juhász.
