Doroud
Hi dude ! I was just passing by (....) Well if everything goes as planed, Sassanid Empire will be a featured article. The first Iranian article. I'm diligently working on it and it has just received the good article banner (man its damn tough !). Could you please check and review the article, in other words Peer review it ? and also image tags, could you check those too ? 9:27 23 February 2006 (UTC)
See what the Anti-Iranians are Doing?
They are not trying to change the definition of Iranian peoples iinto just a alnguage to work around what is happening in the Kurdish articles, becuase they know reality is going to hit them and Kurds will soon be defined as an Iranian people. They no work to undermine the definition of Iranian people into just a lingustic group with no cultural or historic or ethncial relationship those making seperation between Iranians easier.
About Gilaki
An open letter written by Gilaki students and university profs. about their mother tongue, in which they clearly call it Zaban-e Gilaki(Gilaki language), not dialect (Gooyesh). Take a look at this on-line dictionary . Also from a technical point of view: Unlike Persian, most possessives and adjectives precede the head noun, similar to English.Encyclopaedia Iranica Heja Helweda 05:25, 23 February 2006 (UTC)
Azeris and Indo-Scythians
-Zereshk, this is Afghan Historian, you probably remember me. I'm working on a new page dealing with Azeri's and I would like to know if you have done any work regarding them. I would appreciate your help. Specifically I would like to know whether you would classify them as Turkic or Iranian. Several people claim them to be a Persian people that have been Turkified and others claim vice versa. Also, I was wondering if you knew anything about the Scythians and their invasion of the area now known as Pakistan and India and of the groups descended from them. On the Rajput page, I try bringing to light the Scythian ancestry of these groups but many other users instead revert to discussion about the mythological origins of these groups. You seem to have a good knowledge of Iranian studies from what read of your comments on the Freddie Mercury discussion (hope no hard feelings there). -User: Afghan Historian

Iranian peoples
Hello Zereshk. I've already noticed the discussion regarding the word "Aryan". As you might know, I am currently busy with removing POV from Safavids. I'll focus on Iranian peoples when I've more time.
Btw, the expression "Iranian peoples" and "Aryans" is also used by the The Circle of Ancient Iranian Studies.
And here is another interesting article: "THE ORIGIN OF THE PRE-IMPERIAL IRANIAN PEOPLES" by Dr. Oric Basirov
Tajik 00:29, 25 February 2006 (UTC)
I have written a little bit, I mean when it comes to 'Iranian people', it brings up the whole Pan-Iranism in my opinion, perhaps we should put it up for votes? I am sure one or two Kurds will not win this over. This video is quite funny by the way: http://www.pan-iranism.com/test6.swf - If there is anything else I can do let me know. I didn't take that picture, I was told it was done in Tehran, but that guy also visited Kish in his visit to Iran too, so it could have been there too --Kash 01:27, 25 February 2006 (UTC)

Iranian Kurdistan
I have removed the {{prod}} tag from Iranian Kurdistan. I understand your fustration with the edit conflict on Iranian peoples: Diyako should absolutely not have re-applied the tag after you had removed it. But responding in a similar fashion violates WP:POINT. I know it's hard to keep calm when someone else is behaving unreasonably, but one can sure try! Thank you. Re: Iranian peoples pic
Ok, I can't think of who to add right now, but I'll try to do it sometime. Ah, I see you've met the Kurdish editors. I've had some disputes with them awhile back, mainly over adding the fact that the Kurds are an Iranian people, which all of them deny. Oh, I was wondering, were the Safavids of Azeri origin? I've had a very long revert war with User:Tajik over this. Thanks. --Khoikhoi 06:19, 25 February 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for you reply. I'd appreciate it that next time Tajik reverts (and when he's cooled down) that you edit the page - perhaps he'll listen to you.
- Interesting theory. What do you think about the current president of Iran? He's a bit of extreme on issues, don't you think? And about Heja and Diyako trying to break up the ethnic groups of Iran, I recall watching the BBC once, and they were interviewing the son of the Shah, who lives somewhere outside of Los Angeles. He was saying, "It's not about the past, it's not about me, it's not about monarchy - it's about the right of the Iranian people to choose freely they want for themselves. What I want people to understand is that it's a race against time. Will Iran become a democracy first or will this regime have it's bomb?" And I was thinking, this is exactly what the US government wants him to say! But what they really want to do is have the old regime once again.
- About the poetry, does it have to be at the very top of the page? Just wondering.
- I originally thought that you were an admin but I guess you aren't. Are there any Iranian admins? --Khoikhoi 07:16, 25 February 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, about that. Would you support me if I were to run for admin? Just a thought. ;) --Khoikhoi 00:08, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
- Hey, thanks. Btw, it looks like the Kurdish editors have got into a major dispute with the Iranian editors on the Iranian peoples page. --Khoikhoi 00:14, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
Ibn Sina
Someone in the Ibn Sina page is deleting the word Persian everyday and I have to put it back on. I gave him three sources that Ibn Sina was identified as Iranian or Persian (including Britannica) and he still edits it. Is there anyway I can stop him? In my opinion he is breaking the rules since I have sources and he does not. I would appreciate your help.
He is also saying that Uzbekistan and Afghanistan were not parts of Persia at the time of his birth but instead parts of the Islamic Caliphate
Is this true? Of course this does not make Ibn Sina any less Persian/Iranian but I just wanted to make sure.
Thanks

Iranian Watchdog
Aucaman and a few others like Heja Helweda and Diyako have been repeatedly and systematically vandalizing the Iran-related topics such as Persian people and Iranian peoples, propagating false information, maliciously editing/disputing/deleting without one shred of proof to backup their wild claims, applying the strawman falsification approach, trying to establish new 'facts" based on their own personal assumptions and beliefs.
In order to prevent this situation, we need to create an Iranian Watchdog on Misplaced Pages and guard the integrity and quality of all the Misplaced Pages articles that are related to Iran and Iranians. Please let me know if you think that's a good idea. --ManiF 13:04, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

- It's a good idea, but I wouldnt know what exactly could we do. We have no Iranian admin, funny as it sounds. (we had some, but they have long gone and dont edit anymore).--Zereshk 00:07, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
- Can't we nominate someone? This situation is really bothering me, separatists and bigots are using wikipedia as a platform to propagate against Iranians, we need to start the group, get a page for it on wikipedia, then expand and organize our activities from there. Please get an expert wikipedian to creat the group. We'll take it from there. --ManiF 02:20, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

question
hi Zereshk, I was wondering what you think about adding clerical titles to ayatollahs, etc. just like western clergy, for example Thomas Cardinal Wolsey. I personally would prefer if ayatollahs are also listed with their title, but I don't know any Persian or Iranian users here to gauge the opinions... with kind regards Gryffindor 01:04, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
- Yeh, I think the titles should be included. That is how they are officially addressed in the media and literature.--Zereshk 22:41, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
User Aucaman

Greetings. In Khwarezmia#Early history you added a statement by Biruni. Could you also provide a translation? Personal Attacks
Ok, it seems apparent that some name calling has been going on, but continuing to point fingers at each other over who did it first etc isn't going to help improve what Misplaced Pages is about (the article). I hope you both can simply exchange wiki handshakes, realize that something happened that shouldn't have and consider the matter closed -- Tawker 00:46, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
I certainly agree with that, but I have to tell you, there is no end to this, users Diyako, Heja Helwelda, and Aucaman seem to be ideologically driven. And, when politics comes into this, then beleive me cross-out the word compromise. NOTHING, seems to work with these three users; providing refrences, mediation pages, third opinions, warnings; nothing works.Zmmz 01:32, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

This image was uploaded with a fairuse tag. I had already cleared it with the admin User:wikiacc. The copyright holder source info and link was already provided. I dont know why it was marked.--Zereshk 08:02, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
- Looking at the edit history, what happened was:
- You uploaded it, tagged as "promotional photo"
- Wikiacc tagged it as "fair use, replacement requested, on the grounds that it should be possible to make a free-license replacement
- Quadell tagged it as PD because Iran is not a signatory to the Berne Convention
- Gmaxwell tagged it as "no license" because here on Misplaced Pages, we pretend that Iran is a signatory
- Hope this clears things up. --Carnildo 08:16, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
indeed. that's why wikiacc advised me to upload ISNA images under fairuse. What do you think?--Zereshk 08:23, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
- If it's from an actual press kit or equivalent, then tag it {{promotional}}. Otherwise, it's not being used for identification and critical commentary, so it's hard to claim "fair use". --Carnildo 03:36, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
Azeri
Hi Zereshk, i want to ask a personal question. How Azeris in Iran define themselves? Turkic or Iranian. You are good in drawing. Who is this "Anime by nima" ?--Ugur Basak 09:16, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
- Greetings,
- The Azeris in Iran think of themselves as ethnically Azeri, but also Iranian as well, no doubt. Think of Texas: they are proud of being recognized as discreet and separate ("the lone star state", the "Republic of Texas"), and yet they want to be American as well.
- See Tabriz's page. Tabriz has always been one of the most patriotic Iranian cities in history. There are more Nationalist Iranian revolutionaries from Tabriz than any other Iranian city in recent history (except Tehran of course. But even then, you'd be surprised at the number of Azeris even in Tehran :) ).
- But then again, we like our Azeri-ness to be recognized too.
- BTW, I'd love to visit Turkey one day. Gotta see the Dervishes. :)--Zereshk 11:45, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
- There are many Iranian tourists visiting Turkey especially İstanbul. There is an Azeri users on Azeri wikipedia. He is not so active but one of the first Azeri speaking users and helped there. But as he said, he is Iranian Azeri and not good at in Azeri language. In your user page there is no mention about Azeri language. Will the number of Azeri language speakers decreasing in Iran ? --Ugur Basak 12:00, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
- After all there are about 3 times more Azeri people living in Iran than Azerbaycan. Take care --Ugur Basak 12:16, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
AT&T
The deal appears to be the largest yet among U.S. telecom players and goes a long way toward resurrecting the old Ma Bell telephone system, which was broken apart in 1984 ... The deal furthers the reunification of the Baby Bells, the eight regional telephone operators that were spun off from the old AT&T in 1984 under a federal court order.
As if the government actions in 1984 never even happened since it's all returning to the original point. Talk about living in a bizarre world that makes no sense. SouthernComfort 09:54, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

So did you actually have a good ASU experience? Or was it mediocre punctuated by the (very) occasional good teacher/class/moment? You can probably guess my experience based on the question. ;)SFT | Talk 23:46, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, Red needs to go, but it's not likely to happen. He won mascot-of-the-year at some mascot competition in Florida a year or two ago. The ASU administration is campaigning hard to have our traditions designated as "respectful emulation" of tribal practices, but little facts like "No Indians in Arkansas ever wore headdresses or did anything else our Indian Family does at games" will probably win out, and we'll officially become The Arkansas State Red.

Hey, thanks for dropping by there... can you provide us with any publication data on this book? If there is a library of congress number, ISBN, whatever Iranian produced texts use? Do you know if there has been an English translation (by a notable / not highly biased source)? Any of that would be great because we can't leave the article as it was. gren グレン 00:20, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
