2010 World Series (alternative)

This is an automated message from VWBot. I have performed a search with the contents of 2010 World Series (alternative), and it appears to be very similar to another Misplaced Pages page: 2010 World Series. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Misplaced Pages:Copying within Misplaced Pages and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. VWBot (talk) 02:46, 29 October 2010 (UTC)

Your contributed article, 2010 World Series (alternative)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, 2010 World Series (alternative). First, thank you for your contribution; Misplaced Pages relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - 2010 World Series. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will to continue helping improve Misplaced Pages. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at 2010 World Series - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Misplaced Pages looks forward to your future contributions. Lothar von Richthofen (talk) 04:34, 29 October 2010 (UTC)

Request reason:

I will not do this again, and I was NOT "sockpuppeting". I also did not know that I could not use "SineBot1" as a name (due to the "Bot" in the name), I will change this immediately once I find out how.

Decline reason:

Just start a new account. --jpgordon 02:40, 31 October 2010 (UTC)

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

Hi again, anyway how am I supposed to move all the data from this account to my new account? I can't cut and paste it, I've tried. Just to get this straight, I will NOT maliciously edit Misplaced Pages and its articles. Also, what will happen to my old account? It has been four full months since I put up the above seen unblock request, as you can see the history log and dating, so administrators PLEASE do not reblock me and/or block me from my userpage and I need help with my account transfer! Please respond.

Decline reason:

Your username is inadmissible because is resembles the name of the existing SineBot (talk · contribs) too closely, and "bot" names are generally to be avoided by non-bots. What do you mean by "all the data", which you want to move? Favonian (talk) 11:23, 2 March 2011 (UTC)

Request reason:

(Responding to above:) Such as my preferences, and talk page info. Also, could I simply change my username without creating a new account? Also, the article '2010 World Series (alternative)' (as seen above) has been deleted/reverted back to the original '2010 World Series' article.

Decline reason:

This does not address the block reason of impersonation and sockpuppetry.  Sandstein  05:34, 15 April 2011 (UTC)

Request reason:

I am following JamesBWatson and Hersfold's comment's. I am User 71.146.21.180 (my talk page), and I don't know how to adress this issue. I kind of need some help here. PLEASE. HELP. I don't know what to do here.

Accept reason:

I am unblocking to allow a request for change of username. Please see Misplaced Pages:Changing username for how to make the request, and submit your request as soon as possible to avoid being reblocked. (Note: There have been several problems with your anonymous editing. Make sure you avoid making repeating the same sorts of mistakes, so as not to be blocked for that reason.) JamesBWatson (talk) 10:34, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

I am willing to consider unblocking you. The main thing holding me back at the moment is that I would like to check what evidence there was that this was a sockpuppet account. If it seems that the evidence is inconclusive I will unblock this account to allow a change of username, unless there seem to be other reasons for keeping you blocked. This is not a promise to unblock, but a promise to look into the matter, and to unblock unless there seem to be good reasons not to. JamesBWatson (talk) 09:29, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
  • Although this account has been unblocked, it is possible that it may be subject to an autoblock. Unfortunately the autoblock finder is currently not responding. I hope this is not a problem, but if you find you still can't edit then follow the instructions you will receive for requesting removal of an autoblock, and I hope it can be dealt with soon. JamesBWatson (talk) 10:41, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
Thanks. I live in Pacific Daylight Time (GMT -7), so I couldn't respond at the time.
  • I'm glad that the mess has been sorted out at last, and I hope your future as a Wikipedian will run more smoothly. Feel free to let me know if there are other problems. Thanks for you kind messages on my talk page. One word of advice: it is usual to post new talk page sections at the bottom, and so that is where people are likely to look for them. This time I saw your message at the top of my talk page, but there have been times when I haven't noticed one for quite a while. Much safer to post at the bottom. JamesBWatson (talk) 20:03, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
Just a note, I asked the blocking admin on their talk page about the sockpuppet accusation, and their response was that the name was the main concern, and that they had no problem if someone unblocked to allow a name change request. -- Atama 03:51, 19 June 2011 (UTC)
