Morgan Taylor Reid (born November 1, 1985) is an American musician, singer-songwriter, recording artist and record producer based in Los Angeles, California.
Early Life
Morgan Taylor Reid was born and raised in Santa Rosa, California. To Reid's family it became very clear early on, that he had a musical gift. Ever since his grandmother gave him a mini keyboard on his third Christmas. Upon receiving the keyboard and without ever having played one before, three-year-old Reid was instantly able to play back the melodies from Christmas songs note for note. From the age of four, Reid had spent almost every day practicing the piano to a metronome. Primarily based in Los Angeles, California, Reid has written an produced several songs for artists like Shane Harper (AMI/Universal Music Group), Zac Poor (Universal Music Group/Motown Records), South Jordan (Island Records), Kandice Melonakos (Epic), Plug In Stereo (Triple Crown Records/Warner Music Group) and several indie artists. Recently he has produced songs for award winning songwriter Giorgio Moroder who is best known for his work on films like Top Gun, Never Ending Story, and Scarface. In April 2011, Reid was flown to Miami, Florida to work at The Hit Factory with the famous producer RedOne (Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Lil Wayne, Enrique Iglesias). While there he spent a week writing and co-producing with RedOne for his newly signed band 7Lions (2101 Records/Universal Music Group).
Reid's solo album '"Simply Human"' reveals the mellow singer/songwriter side of Reid, this heartfelt acoustic style EP has gotten Reid lots of recent media attention, Reid's song "Stay Where You Are" was recently used for a Levi's Jeans Campaign and his song "Brighter" was recently featured in the Season Seven Finale of the popular network television show Grey's Anatomy on ABC He is currently working on a new solo album that he says is bringing out the fun side of his himself.
