The 2010 Nevada Attorney General general election will be November 2, 2010. The primary election will be held on June 6, 2010. The candidate elected to the office will serve a term of four years starting January 2011. The incumbent Nevada Attorney General, Catherine Cortez Masto, is Democrat.

The Nevada Attorney General represents the people of Nevada in civil and criminal matters before trial, appellate and the supreme courts of Nevada and the United States.

Qualifications

The candidate must be a bona fide resident of Nevada, over 18 years old, a qualified elector and licensed and admitted to practice law in all courts in the State of Nevada. The functions of the office are set forth in Nevada Revised Statutes, Chapter 228
