My RfA

Thank you for your support in my request for adminship. I'm delighted that the RfA succeeded with a final consensus of 52/17/7, and receiving comments including having 'excellent potential to become a great moderator', and I am now an administrator. It did however only just pass, and I shall do my very best to rectify any of my errors, including the general belief that I should do more article work. If you have any concerns, or if you ever feel that I may be able to help you, please feel free to leave a message on my talk page. Again, thank you!

Categories

Is there a place to propose renaming of categories? --Thorpe | talk 20:25, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

I suggest you see this . Computerjoe 20:28, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
Thanks! PS - your signature is kinda annoying since your talk page is the first part of your signature. --Thorpe | talk 20:33, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
Shall change my sig. Computerjoe 20:35, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
I was just saying it was annoying for me about your signature. You don't have to change it because of my opinion. I'll just try and remember if you decide to keep it as it is. --Thorpe | talk 20:36, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

Hitler

Dear Joe, you reverted my latest edits on Hitler. Believe me, these were valid edits and hence I restored them. However, if you have any specific concerns, please post them either on my or the article's talk page. Str1977 20:49, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

In what way more NPOV? I'm only asking as four eyes see more than two. Str1977 21:12, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
If it sounds anti-Hitler that's either because of the subject matter (there's not much positive to be said about him, albeit of course it should be in NPOV wording) or because of the previous text. I didn't change that much:
  • I included the Communists among the banned parties, removed the accusation against the SPD and combined all into one sentence.
  • I changed "was growing into an independent power of its own" (which is a bit fuzzy and not actually accurate - the SA were a potential threat but not yet a power of its own) into "As the SA's demands for political and military caused much anxiety among the populace in general and especially among the military" (which includes the actual debates "pofessional military vs. paramiliatary SA" and the worries of the populace).
Cheers, Str1977 22:03, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
Sure, no need to argue. I don't want to either. I was just curious. Cheers, Str1977 22:07, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for your support of my RfA

Thank you for your support of my successful request for adminship. I am honoured that the nomination was supported unanimously and that the community expressed confidence that I would use the tools wisely. If you have any concerns please let me know on my talk page. My RFA

Thanks for your support in my RFA. The final vote count was (66/2/3), so I am now an administrator. Please let me know if at any stage you need help, or if you have comments on how I am doing as an admin. Have a nice day! Stifle 17:02, 7 March 2006 (UTC)

A tricky task indeed (I don't know a thing about it). You guys have made some huge improvements already and I'm happy to help. I'll have very little free time for the next two days, but after that I'll get on this. Canderson7 (talk) 21:12, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

JackyR

Exactly, she and I have an understanding. Please put back my text. zyx

woss going on?

Why did you remove contributions from my talk page? It's not just rude and anti-policy, but I was in the middle of a conversation with ZyXoas that contributor. JackyR 21:54, 10 March 2006 (UTC)

No, no, a vandalism warning is inappropriate if you've apologised and anyway it was an error. But I'm puzzled how you came to think it was a good idea in the first place? I've had others fix obvious vandalism before, but to my user page, not Talk. More generally, the particular circumstance is that ZyX edits on a mobile phone from a part of the world with poor connectivity. It's a painful process, but he's exactly the sort of editor WP literally can't get enough of – both talented and highly knowledgeable of facts and views that are systemically under-represented on WP (and in European/US media). Please stop to think that not everybody has the access you do, but this doesn't make others' contributions less important (indeed the very opposite, proportionally speaking). cheers, JackyR 17:42, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for supporting my RFA. I really appreciated the show of support and all the kind words from so many great Wikipedians. I hope I live up to them! -- Vary | Talk 17:27, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

My RFA

Thanks for participating in my RfA. It passed with a final tally of 98/13/10, just two short of making WP:100. If you need my help with anything, don't hesitate to ask.

Back, and better than ever. You voted on the last one, come see the improvements. Kaisershatner 17:09, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

Hi, I think you might find the new intro short enough to "Support." Thanks, Kaisershatner 14:37, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

Just out of curiosity what did you do to my userpage Joe?-Dr. Mahogany

User Page Award - judging

Hi Computerjoe. This is a quick message to remind you that all 5 finalists for the Esperanza User Page Award have been chosen. You now need to judge those 5 pages, awarding each one 1-10 points for attractiveness, usefulness, interesting-ness and general niceness. Refer to the Scores section at Misplaced Pages:Esperanza/User Page Award if you are unsure.

Once you have scored the 5 pages, email KnowledgeOfSelf using the specified format. As soon as all the scores have been tallied, a winner will be announced! Thanks.

Request for adminship

Sorry to bear bad news on your birthday, but your nomination for adminship was not successful. I hope that you will continue your contributions to Misplaced Pages and consider standing again in a few months. Remember, most of the oppose votes were from users who want to see more of your work! And have a happy birthday! Warofdreams talk 02:29, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

Bad luck. You'll make a good admin yet, just give it some time. Let me know if you have another RfA in the future - I'll be supporting you no end. haz (user talk) 21:47, 17 March 2006
Sorry you didn't make it this time! I'll gladly support you again in any future RfAs. Oh, and happy birthday! - Wezzo (talk) (ubx) 22:00, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
I am sorry to hear that your RFA nomination has failed. But do not lose hope. My advise to you is to apply again after 2 months and you WILL succeed! You will always have my support. Treat this as a learning experience and continue to give excellent contributions to Misplaced Pages. Best of luck for the future and I wish you "A Very Happy Birthday!" --Siva1979 14:06, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

The article is coming along. Do you think it is too technical with references to manufacture process? Words like wafer, photomask, etc. I don't know whether to just wikilink them or rewrite to remove them. (I'm about to go look for an article on IC manufacture that I can add to see also, thta may help). Also, the Ongoing issues section at the bottom probably needs some work, but again I'm not sure what to do about it. RJFJR 23:18, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

We are, at least, getting closer. I'll take another look and see if I can remove some of the more techincal material (we can refer to it in the 'see also' section, or something). RJFJR 19:04, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
