Vilna and RadomHello, Piotrus. You have new messages at Volunteer Marek's talk page. You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template. AfDHello. As one of the top ten contributors of Great Divergence, the main article on the subject, you are notified per WP:Canvass (users who are known for expertise in the field) of a AfD on whether the Canadian scholar R. Duchesne is notable in his field of "wolrd history" or not, that is whether the bio should be kept or not. See here. I'm seeing a higher number of abandoned reviews recently, which is concerning me. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 17:19, 29 August 2011 (UTC) DYK backlogFor some reasons all the prep areas are full. GA review of Ewelina HańskaHello Piotrus, I have been reviewing Ewelina Hańska, which you nominated for GA. I have found several items in the article that need to be addressed, and I have listed them on the review talk page. I will place on the review of the article "On hold" until they can be addressed. --Tea with toast (話) 00:04, 30 August 2011 (UTC) The Signpost: 29 August 2011
A favor at DYK...I would be much obliged if you re-reviewed my nomination here at DYK. Avenue X at Cicero (talk) 12:08, 30 August 2011 (UTC) Proposed Deletion: Polish Saint Patrick's DayDear Sir: I am hopeful that Misplaced Pages will not remove this page. http://en.wikipedia.org/Polish_Saint_Patrick's_Day For the last seven years, there is a group of family and friends that has celebrated this day and have created holiday. My cousins and myself all are very proud of our Polish heritage, and it has been a joy to watch something grow from idea to 50 people gathering in celebration. We were hoping to create a little buzz for next year's event. This year we hope to have over 100 people there, and hopefully raise some money for local veterans. This day is not a Hoax althoug the origins of the holiday are pure fiction, created as a back story to the holiday, to have some fun. The second section is 90% truth with the section about the Leprechaun(films) are sadly the absolute truth. Please let me know what we can do to not have this deleted. It important that to a number of people keep Polish St. Patrick's Day on Misplaced Pages. One of the eight remaining contestants will be this year's WikiCup champion! 150 was the score needed to progress to the final; just under double the 76 required to reach round 4, and more than triple the 41 required to reach round 3. Our eight finalists are:
We say goodbye to our seven other semi-finalists, Another Believer (submissions), Piotrus (submissions), Grandiose (submissions), Stone (submissions), Eisfbnore (submissions), Canada Hky (submissions) and MuZemike (submissions). Everyone still in the competition at this stage has done fantastically well, and contributed greatly to Misplaced Pages. We're on the home straight now, and we will know our winner in two months. In other news, preparations for next year's competition have begun with a brainstorming thread. Please, feel free to drop by and share any thoughts you have about how the competition should work next year. Sign ups are not yet open, but will be opened in due course. Watch this space. Further, there has been a discussion about the rule whereby those in the WikiCup must delcare their participation when nominating articles at featured article candidates. This has resulted in a bot being created by new featured article delegate Ucucha (talk · contribs). The bot will leave a message on FAC pages if the nominator is a participant in the WikiCup. A reminder of the rules: any points scored after August 29 may be claimed for the final round, and please remember to update submission pages promptly. If you are concerned that your nomination, be it at good article candidates, a featured process or anywhere else, will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Misplaced Pages:WikiCup/Reviews. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAC, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which could otherwise be caused by the Cup. As ever, questions are welcome on Misplaced Pages talk:WikiCup and the judges are reachable on their talk pages, or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start receiving or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Misplaced Pages:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send.
