Skyfall is a title that was widely discussed in October 2011 because certain actions suggested that it would be used for the 23rd James Bond film. MGM and Sony Pictures purchased several Web domains such as JamesBond-Skyfall.com and Skyfallthefilm.com, prompting reports by multiple news agencies. No official announcement was made by either Sony or Eon Productions prior to or in response to this media activity.

The 23rd film will be the third to feature Daniel Craig as fictional MI6 agent James Bond. It will also star Judi Dench as M. The film is set to be released on 26 October 2012 in the UK and Ireland with a worldwide release date of 9 November 2012.
