StubHub is the fans’ ticket marketplace, allowing users to buy and sell a vast selection of sporting, concert, theater and other live entertainment events at fair market value, even for events that are "sold out."
StubHub reinvented the ticket resale market in 2000 and continues to lead through innovation. The company's unique open marketplace, dedicated solely to tickets, provides all fans the choice to buy or sell their tickets in a safe, convenient, and highly reliable environment. All transactions are processed and delivered via StubHub's patent-pending FanNetwork (sm) ticket delivery service, supported by seven-day toll free customer service at 1-866-STUBHUB, and backed by the industry-first FanProtect (sm) Guarantee.
StubHub founder Jeffrey Fluhr created StubHub out of a belief that older approaches to ticket sales - brokers, aggregators, on-line auctions or bulletin boards/on-line communities, and even the venues/teams themselves - were not serving the needs of all the consumers in the secondary ticket market. The classic case of supply - the best seats often held by season ticket holders, brokers, corporate sponsors and the artists themselves - versus demand, was playing out inefficiently, to the detriment of everyone. Venues would have too many "no-shows," consumers were forced to pay exorbitant prices for tickets and the entire process was often painful.
StubHub's fair and open, market-based approach - driven by both a unique business model and tested, proprietary software technology--has already won a significant amount of support from large venues, teams and partners, including the Indianapolis Colts, Chicago Bears and New Jersey Nets. StubHub also has partnerships with media companies such as AOL, as well as universities like the University of Southern California and University of Alabama.
StubHub has also assembled an impressive advisory board, including Frank Biondi, former president and CEO of Universal Studios and Viacom; Dave Checketts, former president and CEO of Madison Square Garden, Inc., and Steve Young, former quarterback of the San Francisco 49ers.
