Hans Blix (born 1928, Uppsala, Sweden) is the head of the United Nations Monitoring, Verification and Inspection Commission (since January 2000) which in 2002 began scouring Iraq for weapons of mass destruction which America and the British claim Iraq has -- a claim which Iraq totally denies.

Blix's team reported in early December 2002 that they found mustard gas during their inspection.

Blix hade previously been the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency between 1981 and 1997.
