Common Dreams NewsCenter, based in Portland, Maine, was founded in 1997. It is a non-profit news service providing breaking news and views for the Progressive Community. Common Dreams is a national non-profit citizens' organization working to bring progressive Americans together to promote progressive visions for America's future. Common Dreams is funded exclusively by its members and supporters - no corporate money, no advertising, no hidden agendas and operates with a small staff and a network of volunteers.
