• Where is the error? An exact quotation of the text in question helps.

Japan quake 13 March

The news item reading "A magnitude 6.8 magnitude earthquake occurs off the coast of Japan causing a small tsunami that hits the coast of Aomori prefecture on the island of Hokkaido" has an error -- Aomori prefecture is on Honshu, not Hokkaido. The earthquake was off the northern island of Hokkaido.

El Salvador

WHat i s with these unexplaien dunilateral abusive of admin authority:

unexplained and ARENA is the common name know to the world. Discuss changes first per consensus (which the posting admin used)

christiani has NOTHIGN to do with this. Its NOT a parliamentary system that he gains anything of govt formation, etc

per precedence, the countrys name is El Salvador. Understand the change, would then suggest removeing that from the link and adding "El Slavador's (wikilink)legislative election(end wikilink)"Lihaas (talk) 12:32, 14 March 2012 (UTC)

First one fixed, second one is neither here nor there, third is wrong - Salvadoran is the commonly accepted adjectival form when referring to El Salvador, and the current linking is appropriate. Nikkimaria (talk) 12:42, 14 March 2012 (UTC)

Third i agree when saying SalvadorN...but i suggest El Salvador's so we dont run into the muddle as many readers may not know at first before clicking.Lihaas (talk) 14:14, 14 March 2012 (UTC)

I can see no evidence either way as to whether the principle of binding precedent carries any weight in the International Criminal Court: unless we can verify that it does, the gloss in our blurb on Dyilo is misleading and inaccurate. Kevin McE (talk) 21:00, 14 March 2012 (UTC)

244 years

Hello,

I read 244 at the end of a line, which is incorrect typography, disturbing and ugly.

Please correct that : replace "244 years" with "244 years".

If it's always wrong to end a line with a number, then the WP:NBSP guideline could become a lot simpler. Several details like "after the number in a numbered address" could be replaced with "after any number". So perhaps you should take your recurring issue to Misplaced Pages talk:Manual of Style. Overlinking at Bo Xilai

• The consensus blurb was "Bo Xilai, Chongqing Committee Secretary of the Communist Party of China, is abruptly dismissed from office following the Wang Lijun incident." Yet somehow, it acquired two more long, piped and chainedlinks when it got posted: "Bo Xilai, Chongqing Committee Secretary of the Communist Party of China, is dismissed from office following the Wang Lijun incident." Kindly lose a few of the links. I suggest:
  "Bo Xilai, CPC Committee Secretary in Chongqing, is dismissed from office following the Wang Lijun incident." --Ohconfucius 08:53, 17 March 2012 (UTC)

That is by no means normal practice in Misplaced Pages, especially where there is no realistic likelihood of misunderstanding. The bolded article does not use association football. That is not the "formal name" of the sport: it is an historic, but now almost entirely obsolete, name. From FIFA's statutes: "The objectives of FIFA are: a) to improve the game of football constantly and promote it globally...." Kevin McE (talk) 07:18, 16 March 2012 (UTC)

From the same statutes: "Association football: the game controlled by FIFA and organised in accordance with the Laws of the Game" (and many other occurrences; even in the list of objectives you quote from there is only one unqualified reference to football, and two to association football). FIFA uses football in places, but it explicitly states that the game it regulates, and the game its members play is association football.ReadingOldBoy (talk) 10:06, 16 March 2012 (UTC)

The other issue is that association football qualifies the claim that the FA cup is 'the oldest association football competition in the world', if you remove 'association' then that claim becomes untrue, the FA cup is not the oldest football competition in the world.ReadingOldBoy (talk) 10:15, 16 March 2012 (UTC)
