| Mike has spent his entire life tracking Oklahoma weather; chasing his first Oklahoma tornadoes at the age of 10 with his father. Mike began interning at the Oklahoma National Weather Service office at the age of 13 years and during his 2 year internship learned how to operate weather radar at the age of 15. The Meteorologist in Charge (MIC) of the Tulsa NWS at the time was Ben Barker, the deputy MIC was Lloyd Spyres, forecaster JT Ray. Mike's internship information is confirmed. Mike's career in Oklahoma broadcasting began also at the age of 15 with an internship with Chief Meteorologist Don Woods of KTUL Channel 8 ABC. His first on air media job began as weekend PM anchor at KJRH TV2 NBC at the age of 17 under Chief Meteorologist Gary Shore (Meteorology masters degree, Penn State) while still in high school. His early TV career helped to put him thru college at OU in Norman in the highly recognized school of Meteorology and Geosciences. | |||

Mike Morgan (born in Tulsa, Oklahoma) is a television meteorologist. Since January 1993, he has served as the evening chief meteorologist at KFOR-TV, the NBC-affiliated television station in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Morgan is a member of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association. Mike Morgan resides in Edmond, Oklahoma with his wife Marla, son and daughter.
Life and career
Morgan was raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. At age 13, he interned with the National Weather Service Tulsa Forecast Office. In 1985, Morgan got his first television meteorology job at NBC affiliate KJRH in Tulsa. In 1988, Morgan became the evening meteorologist for KOCO-TV, the ABC affiliate in Oklahoma City and worked there until 1992, before moving to KFOR-TV in 1993.
Morgan was presented with the Humanitarian Award by former Oklahoma Governor Frank Keating for KFOR's coverage of the 1999 Oklahoma tornado outbreak on May 3, 1999. In eight out of nine years since 2000 (seven of those years consecutive), Morgan has received the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters award for state's Best 10PM weathercast. Mike has also been honored the Radio Television News Directors' Association Award and has won two and been nominated for seven Regional Emmy Awards.
