Scott Archer Boorman (born 1949) is a mathematical sociologist at Yale University. He is interested in developing new mathematical phenomenology for complex social structures and processes.
He earned his B.A in Applied Mathematics from Harvard University. He then received his Ph.D. in Sociology from Harvard University. He is also a graduate of Yale Law School.
In recent years, he has been doing research on models for evolutionary biosociology, blockmodel algorithms for the empirical description of social networks, the theory of complex statutory evolution, and non-rational-choice mathematical models to analyze social processes.
