The Warner Lawrence is an innovative fireboat owned and operated by the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) in Los Angeles. Designed by Robert Allan in the early 2000's, the Warner Lawrence was built in Washington and delivered to the San Pedro on May 21, 2003. It was dedicated on April 12 of that year. The boat is driven primarily by pilot James Horimoto of the LAFD.
Abilities/Description
The Warner Lawrence is one of the most technologically advanced fireboats in the world. It is an omni-directional vessel driven by large propulsion devices similar to huge egg beaters. The Warner Lawrence has the capability to pump up to 38,000 US gallons per minute (2 m³/s) up to 400 feet (120 m) in the air.
