San Francisco 49ers

Trent John Baalke (pronounced /ˈbɑːlkiː/ BAHL-kee) is the General Manager of the San Francisco 49ers, having been promoted to this position from Vice President of Player Personnel in January 2011. Prior to his brief tenure in that position, he had been the team's Director of Player Personnel, a position largely responsible for overseeing the team's college scouting operations. He was first hired by the 49ers in 2005 as their Western region scout, having previously been the National Scout and then College Scouting Coordinator for the Washington Redskins. He was also a scout for the New York Jets from 1998 to 2000. He lives in Colorado with his wife and two daughters.

In January of 2012, Baalke was named PFWA Executive of the Year for the 2011 season, after taking a 6-10 team and leading them to a 13-3 record in his first season as General Manager. The next month he received a contract extension through 2016.
