N.R. Narayana Murthy (b. August 20, 1946, Karnataka, India) is a software engineer and the founder of Infosys.
He graduated in electrical engineering from University of Mysore in 1967 and got his master's degree from IIT Kanpur in 1969.
In 1981, he founded Infosys with six software professionals. He served as President of National Association of Software and Service Companies, India from 1992 to 1994.
