Hello PPGMD and welcome to Misplaced Pages! Hope you like it here, and stick around.
Here are some tips to help you get started:
- To sign your posts (on talk pages, for example) use the '~' symbol. To insert just your name, type ~~~ (3 tildes), or, to insert your name and timestamp, use ~~~~ (4 tildes).
- Try the Tutorial, and feel free to experiment in the test area.
- If you need help, post a question at the Help Desk
- Follow the Misplaced Pages:Simplified Ruleset
- Eventually, you might want to read the Manual of Style and Policies and Guidelines.
- Remember Misplaced Pages:Neutral point of view
- Explore, be bold in editing pages, and, most importantly, have fun!
Good luck!
Categories
Standing category policy is that if a person is in a subcategory of a category they should not also be placed in that category. There are two reasons for this policy. There have been many thousands of notable aviators, dividing it into subcategories will keep that category of a manageable size. The policy also prevents articles being placed in dozens of categories. William Barker is an aviator but he is also a Canadian, a person, a WWI figure, a military figure, a VC, a medal winner etc. By only including the most specific categories we limit the list on the article to a manageable two or three. See Misplaced Pages:Categorization for the full discussion of our policies. -SimonP 16:15, Aug 24, 2004 (UTC)
Non-free images
Please don't add non-free images to wikipedia. Especially please don't add non-free images to replace free images! Thanks. Jimbo Wales 23:03, 19 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Bush image
My mistake, I didn't see that it was a different image and I wasn't aware of Jimbo's note. Carry on. Sarge Baldy 23:22, Oct 19, 2004 (UTC)
Bush picture
Well, anyway, my picture is better than yours so, nyah nyah. ;-) Actually, I don't care, though I'm a bit disappointed and I do think mine is better from a compositional standpoint.
Still, none of this is particularly relevant. What *is* relevant is: we were at the same event? You live around here? Cool. Jimbo Wales 00:04, 20 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Yeah, I live in Bradenton. PPGMD
IIS6 Security
Do you have some source for this change of Local System to Network Service account?
My copy of IIS6 here is running as Local System as default - it is worth noting however that the default configuration in IIS has always been to adopt the security of the user logged in to IIS6 - which in the case of anonymous access, the default is IUSR_computername which has limited access.
DamienG 10:40, Oct 31, 2004 (UTC)
- It's the same security policy that apache runs under (as I understand it, I was an admin not a programmer with Apache), the listener service is runs in root, but the worker processes run in the particular users account, including the ISUR for anonymous access. It's rare that the actual listener has an exploits, it's generally in the scripts. PPGMD
GCOTW
I'm giving you this message because you have been active on Gaming Collaboration of the week in the past. The collaboration had a bit of a hiatus, but it's now active again. A new article will be chosen this Sunday. It would be greatly appreciated if you visited the page to vote and/or make new nominations and worked on next week's GCOTW. Thanks. --Slowking Man 08:06, Feb 4, 2005 (UTC)

Mark Felt
Thanks for your comments on the FAC nomination. There are precedents for quicker elevations to Featured status. Today's featured article, the Warren County Canal, was started on April 15, 2005, and made featured status on May 2. PedanticallySpeaking 15:37, Jun 17, 2005 (UTC)
Imput
Thanks for contributing to the Rfc on George Bush. Your imput as to the need to have a link to the daughter article on substance abuse is under my consideration...yet I think that this may be a big concession as myself and others have had great disputes as to the worth of most of the items under dispute. In fact, I think they are just purely there to cast the subject matter (Bush) in a bad light...anyway, thanks for your imput.--MONGO 09:57, 18 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Hi, I wonder if you are the photographer of this photo? I notice that the image description doesn't say who did. The reason I'm asking is that the photo found its way to WikiCommons as commons:Image:443px-Bush 2004.jpg and it would be nice to know who should be credited. Mark Felt Redux
In June you voted on the featured article candidacy of W. Mark Felt, which failed. It has now been resubmitted. In the event you would like to vote on the new candidacy, it is at Misplaced Pages:Featured article candidates/W. Mark Felt. PedanticallySpeaking 18:53, 7 October 2005 (UTC)
Fascism (United States)
Why did you remove most of the text from Fascism (United States)? Please explain. Andrew_pmk | Talk 03:05, 7 January 2006 (UTC)
- PPGMD does not believe that the article should have been kept, and is upset that it was retained after the AfD process. He is simply vandalizing out of frustration at this point. I could be wrong, in which case I would expect to see the correct reason below. --Dschor 11:37, 7 January 2006 (UTC)
- I merged the only post WWII section not found in the Neo-fascism article, and the remianing post WWII content, once that content was removed there wasn't even enough for a stub so I redirected it. Dschor surviving AFD doesn't mean that we can't move forward with a merge, in fact a merge is not an offical outcome of an AFD. The Republican party section has been merged, if you wish to make a history based article go ahead. But at this point it contains two sentences not found in Neo-Fascim. PPGMD 16:06, 7 January 2006 (UTC)
- That's right - if you can't delete the article, simply gut it and drag the pieces away from the scene. I will be happy to reconstitute the article, but I will wait until you've finished having fun with template tags and redirects. I am still assuming good faith. --Dschor 22:59, 7 January 2006 (UTC)
- It's pretty much been decided to merge the post-WWII content to Neo-Fascism. Which has already been done. PPGMD 23:06, 7 January 2006 (UTC)

It would have been nice to follow the suggestions for merging articles on wikipedia and list this at Misplaced Pages:Proposed mergers. The result of merging this article into two other articles is not a merge in the proper sense - it is in fact a violation of the guidelines on merging articles. It would be wonderful if you would refrain from blanking articles that you do not like. --Dschor 23:41, 13 January 2006 (UTC)
- Get off my user talk with your bullshit, and how you twist the rules to suit yourself. A number of the people agreed, and we redirected, all content on that page, is on either of those two pages. PPGMD 23:45, 13 January 2006 (UTC)
- Your own bullshit is what has brought me here. You refuse to address my legitimate concerns, and insist that my good faith effort is twisting the rules. I am not the one who threatened deletion and failed. I am not the one who merged without discussion and consensus. A number of people is not a consensus. You redirected, but as you say, the content is on two pages, and a redirect is not the appropriate tool to use in this situation. Try to understand, this page was not merged and redirected properly, and will be reconstituted. --Dschor 01:34, 14 January 2006 (UTC)
- So far 3 editors have put in redirects, with you being one of the few to disagree. PPGMD 01:35, 14 January 2006 (UTC)
I count 3 editors who have reverted this page to previous versions after page blanking and redirects. I think your "number of people" is approximately the same as the number who would prefer that you cease and desist. --Dschor 01:38, 14 January 2006 (UTC)
