Some facts about Mantanmoreland
1. The name. Why "Mantanmoreland"? Because I am distantly related to the real Mantan Moreland. That's why! It's my tribute to a great and underappreciated actor. (No, I'm not African-American, not that it matters.)
2. My interests: I love film, film and more film! My chief professional interest is Wall Street. I am at work on a project concerning stock fraud and short-selling.
3. I became involved in an editing war a couple of months ago. I have vowed, "Never again!"
4. I've run out of facts!
Anyway, this is just the start of my user page. I hope to add to it as time goes on, and contribute more to Misplaced Pages when I have the time. I tend to contributes in spurts. Any Wikipedians who have nice things to say, or suggestions, are welcome.
My proudest contributions to date
To my amazement, I found that there was no article on the great novelist and screenwriter Richard Price! So, in the best traditions of Misplaced Pages, I went ahead and created one.
Ditto for Avery Corman. Again, I was surprised that this other very popular novelist was not the subject of an article.
Ditto for other writers/journos whose work I admire. Will try to fix, to the extent I can.
My moment of shame
That editing war I alluded to earlier. Never again!
Biggest surprise to date
An article on the Efficient market hypothesis that didn't mention Burton Malkiel, its leading advocate, and an article on Burton Malkiel that didn't mention the EMH!
