Pathania is the name of a branch of the Banaphar clan of Chandravanshi rajputs. They mostly live in and around Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Jammu region. This clan has to its credit 2 Maha Vir Chakra's in the Indian Army. It is quite close to Mt Vesuvius, famous for destroying Pompeii in A.D 79
