BJJFan

Hi Niteshift, I want to start updating some of the bjj fighters information on wiki.what would wiki consider reliable sources? I mean the only reliable source of bjj information seems to be from articles and news web sites spread out through the internet. Here are some examples: , , , those are the major online news for bjj and mma in the world. They publish monthly magazines as wellI mean would you consider those reliable sources? If not we have to shut down every major bjj competitor, because most information come from these sites. Also I've notice some fighters are adding the tournament results and fight records, in which are detailed information about their matches, what do you think about that? --Bjjfan232 (talk) 03:17, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

Re: Our earlier disputes

Hello, I'd like to formally apologize for any hurt feelings I may have caused, on the stormfront (website) page. I think we all have heated opinions about this, but I look forward to working with you to make a better article for everyone. Cheers :) Mr. Kent (talk) 23:47, 8 March 2011 (UTC) has given you a dove! Doves promote WikiLove and hopefully this one has made your day happier. Spread the WikiLove by giving someone else a dove, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past (this fits perfectly) or a good friend. Cheers!

Spread the peace of doves by adding {{subst:Peace dove}} to someone's talk page with a friendly message!

A beer for you!

No worries, Niteshift--I was happy to back you up there (that was easy anyway, since you were right). Man, some people need to get out more, so they don't have so many words left when they get here. Cheers! Drmies (talk) 22:48, 6 December 2011 (UTC)

  • Tell you what, I had the opposite happen tonight. Old neighbor comes by, there's a bottle of champagne, she and Mrs. Drmies claim to be tired etc; by the time they're gone and I'm thinking about finishing that bottle, it's empty after all. Plus they were disrespecting the Clint Eastwood movie I was watching, tsk tsk. Also, I made a promise: to not respond at ANI. Hey, we're all buddy-buddy now, with all this stuff going on, but weren't we in a fight a couple of months ago? Where you were wrong, of course. Later! Drmies (talk) 05:34, 10 November 2012 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

The Teamwork Barnstar
For working with me on Dave Aronberg article. You've supported him, I was dead set against his most recent bid for office, but we worked together to make the article encyclopedic rather than looking like a press release. ...William 17:45, 9 November 2012 (UTC)

Apologies

If I came across as condescending, that was not my intent--I realize I often misinterpret how I come across in writing, so you may have been right to take offense. I was somewhat frustrated by the discussion, since I saw the redirect as a minor issue and didn't want to spend a lot of time discussing it. Now that I think about it, I suppose that others may legitimately disagree. Sometimes closes that seem obvious to me are seen as poor choices by the community, and I recognize that I'm not infallible, so I respect your decision to pursue this as much as you feel is warranted. Regards, Mark Arsten (talk) 18:19, 3 December 2012 (UTC)

  • Apology accepted. As you can see above, my general feeling was it was ok to express some disagreement, but I wasn't inclined to make it a DRV issue. Niteshift36 (talk) 18:34, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
  • Frankly, I'm preparing to take this to ANI. Like Niteshift, I found your remarks condescending and your result at the AFD wrong, and to add to matters you archived the talk page discussion that was going on. I found that very rude, because I took it as meaning as you wanting me to shut up. You have other discussions older than the one we were having still on your page and not in need of a search party either since Archive eleven of yours isn't on your page. I had to go through your contributions history to find it.
  • Personalities aside, the AFD result stands a strong chance of not withstanding scrutiny aka DRV. I know how to do AFDs, ANI posts, etc but not a DRV. So I'm at a handicap. Do we really have to go the DRV and or ANI route or can we settle this? Possibly bring in another administrator to review the AFD is one idea. Please reply back but do note I won't be around WP from 3 to 6 pm Eastern Standard Time or starting in about an hour. So my getting back to this talk will be delayed....William 18:49, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
  • I felt the discussion had more or less come to an end, but you're right, I should have left it on my page for a bit longer. I left some simplified DRV instructions on your talk page. ANI would probably just tell you to go to DRV, so that's your best bet. WP:RFD is also a possibility, though. Mark Arsten (talk) 19:08, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
FYI I started a DRV here....William 14:39, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for following through on this, and that one editor continues to cause mischief, which I see that I don’t need to tell you. That editor is clearly not in a good position to question anyone’s neutrality, being the least neutral entity I have ever seen in Misplaced Pages. Hand-coding

Hey all :).

I'm dropping you a note because you've been involved in dealing with feedback from the Article Feedback Tool. To get a better handle on the overall quality of comments now that the tool has become a more established part of the reader experience, we're undertaking a round of hand coding - basically, taking a sample of feedback and marking each piece as inappropriate, helpful, so on - and would like anyone interested in improving the tool to participate :).

You can code as many or as few pieces of feedback as you want: this page should explain how to use the system, and there is a demo here. Once you're comfortable with the task, just drop me an email at okeyes@wikimedia.org and I'll set you up with an account :).

If you'd like to chat with us about the research, or want live tutoring on the software, there will be an office hours session on Monday 17 December at 23:00 UTC in #wikimedia-office . Hope to see some of you there! Thanks, Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 23:13, 14 December 2012 (UTC)
