Ajami, Jaffa article

Hi all,

Can you please take a look at the Ajami, Jaffa article and offer some additional input on how it can be further developed? Also, I would like it to be part of WikiProject Palestine as it is relevant to Palestinian History, the Nakba and the Palestinian citizens of Israel.

Thank you,

Ka Yaffa (Ka Yaffa) 17:44, 17 November 2010 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.161.133.154 (talk)

Mandate of Palestine

I am abit unsure if it belongs here, not used to these Wiki project pages, but just wanted to add that some extra input is prolly needed on the Talk:League of Nations mandate page for a discussion about the Mandate of Palestine's being or not being a Class A mandate. //Gotipe (talk) 01:06, 7 November 2012 (UTC)

Palestinian Authority issue

Users are welcome to express their opinion on a reformulated discussion Talk:Palestinian National Authority#Palestinian Authority - an organization (government) or a geopolitical entity?. Thank you.Greyshark09 (talk) 21:37, 12 November 2012 (UTC)

OK, we're getting various mostly WP:original research discussions on whether there is now a formal recognized State of Palestine since 29 November 2012 when the UN General Assembly passed United Nations General Assembly resolution 67/19 changing Palestine's status to "non-member state" - implicitly recognising its sovereignty. Do we need a centralized RfC on the issue? Or someone to just do a really good research job for State of Palestine and disseminate it through relevant articles?? Merger discussion

At Talk:1660 destruction of Safed#Merge there is a proposal for a merger with 1660 destruction of Tiberias. Zero 01:27, 18 November 2012 (UTC)

Would people from Ancient Palestine such as be within the scope of this WikiProject?

Would people from Ancient Palestine such as Jesus be within the scope of this WikiProject? There seams to be some confusion about that on Talk:Jesus#WikiProject_Palestine. Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 09:23, 29 November 2012 (UTC)

Moroccan or Maghrebin Quarter

There is problem in the article Mughrabi Quarter. some said that it's concerne Morocco and some others said that it concerne the Maghreb. Can you participate on this vote here please. Best regards. --Fayçal.09 (talk) 23:35, 29 November 2012 (UTC)

Bad introduction. There, we don't discuss if there were inhabitants of the quarter of Algerian/Tunisian descent, but we are discussing its english name per WP:ENG/WP:UE. Thanks to avoid giving such biased introductions.
--Omar-toons (talk) 05:42, 30 November 2012 (UTC)
However in the english term, you put Moroccan and it concerne people of Maghreb not only Morocco. And the term Mughrabi refere to Maghreb wich is the english terme. And finally, I prefere that wikipedians of this project judge by them selves if it's correct or no. Regards. --Fayçal.09 (talk) 10:35, 30 November 2012 (UTC)
Seems that you don't understand : the English name found on English RS is "Moroccan quarter", and WP adopts English common names, it doesn't translate them from other languages per WP:ENG/WP:UE. --Omar-toons (talk) 11:57, 30 November 2012 (UTC)
Yes it doesn't translate in other languages, so people of Maghreb are called Maghrebin or Mughrabi (in the middle age) not Morrocan (wich refere to Morocco only). You can found the complete english terme here on Google books. Regards. --Fayçal.09 (talk) 12:24, 30 November 2012 (UTC)

Requested move: Palestine → Palestine (region) State of Palestine → Palestine

There's an RM for PalestinePalestine (region) State of PalestinePalestine at Talk:Palestine#Requested_move. Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 19:31, 3 December 2012 (UTC)

What types of attacks should be included in the template Terrorist attacks against Israelis in the 2000s?

Please participate in this discussion and share your opinion on the matter. Thanks. TheCuriousGnome (talk) 16:47, 13 December 2012 (UTC)

I opined there. Meanwhile I'm wondering, under Category:Palestine_templates where is the one for Palestinian casualties, or Israeli military attacks, or whatever? CarolMooreDC 03:26, 14 December 2012 (UTC)

Second Battle of Gaza

Hi, This article has recently been rewritten and reconstructed with cited information. It has previously been assessed as C-class by the Wikiproject Palestine. Would it be possible to have it reassessed in the light of these recent improvements? Thanks a lot, --Rskp (talk) 23:09, 14 December 2012 (UTC)

Palestinian airports

Could I get a comment or two before I move and redirect this article? Talk:List of airports in the Palestinian territories Thank you, and if someone wants to go ahead and make the change, feel free, especially if there are wikiproject concerns that i may not be aware of. --Sue Rangell 22:37, 17 December 2012 (UTC)

Are "Palestinian territories" titles still appropriate for topic articles

There a discussion about weather topic articles about the West Bank and Gaza Strip such as Economy of the Palestinian territories should continue to "Palestinian territories" in their titles considering the recent UN vote at Misplaced Pages:Village_pump_(proposals)#Are_.22Palestinian_territories.22_titles_still_appropriate_for_topic_articles. Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 04:37, 20 December 2012 (UTC)

If you haven't, take a look at State of Palestine where hopefully most thorough discussion of this is ongoing. Too busy to study issue myself, unfortunately. CarolMooreDC 07:07, 20 December 2012 (UTC)

Discussion of broadening definition of "fringe" topics/writers/bios/etc

At Wikipedia_talk:Fringe_theories#RfC_on_the_scope_of_WP:FRINGE. About twice as many people in favor. Sounds like impending censorship to me, imposed over the holidays yet, including regarding topics/writers/bios/etc. often covered in this Wikiproject. CarolMooreDC 22:21, 22 December 2012 (UTC)

Palestine portal split

Recently user:Emmette Hernandez Coleman proposed to split Portal:Palestine and create Portal:Palestinian territories (see Portal talk:Palestine#Content split), with the rationale that Palestine is a geographic area without specific association with any people or politics, while Palestinian territories is about Palestinian people and modern Palestinian politics. Emmette also has already created a twin template to template:History of Palestine, named template:Governance of Palestine from 1948 to demonstrate this concept. Editor opinions are welcome on the issues of:

Thank you.Greyshark09 (talk) 21:12, 27 December 2012 (UTC)

That's not quite my rationale. My rationale is the same rationale that Palestinian territories and Palestine are separate articles, that they are not the same thing. Also formal template merge discussions are supposed to take place at Misplaced Pages:Templates for discussion. Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 05:22, 29 December 2012 (UTC)

Palestine at Asia topic

An ongoing discussion at Asia topic template talk page is proposing to change the redirection target of "Palestine" from "Palestinian territories" to "State of Palestine" at Template:Asia topic. Thank you.Greyshark09 (talk) 14:01, 6 January 2013 (UTC)

Requested move at Talk:Israel–Gaza conflict timeline 2006–2008

Greetings! I have recently relisted a requested move discussion at Talk:Israel–Gaza conflict timeline 2006–2008#Requested move, regarding a page relating to this WikiProject. Discussion and opinions are invited. Thanks, Tyrol5 04:08, 16 January 2013 (UTC)

Note: It originally was Israel–Gaza conflict casualties 2006–2008 and editor changed it without discussion, even though it mostly is a casualty list. I personally don't know how to change it back. CarolMooreDC 16:30, 16 January 2013 (UTC)

Children in the Israeli–Palestinian conflict

I've been working on intermittently and rather busy right now. Editors keep adding "blame the Palestinians for kids' deaths" type info. So definitely could use some help making article NPOV. CarolMooreDC 01:17, 27 January 2013 (UTC)
