CFB Shearwater is a Canadian Forces Base located on the eastern shore of Halifax harbour and accessible by Halifax Metro public transit.

Shearwater is headquarters for Canadian naval helicopter aviation, formerly organized as part of the Canadian Armed Forces' Maritime Air Group and now as 12 Wing. In addition to its operational squadrons afloat on both the Atlantic and Pacific, its training and testing units are located here. It served as a base for the embryonic Canadian Air Force in the interwar periord. During the Second World War, as RCAF Station Dartmouth, it was an important base for long range anti-submarine air patrols.

Also located on the base is the Shearwater Aviation Museum, which documents not only its own history but the history of Canadian military aviation in general. The nearby Atlantic Canada Aviation Museum, located beside the Halifax International Airport, includes both military and civil aviation.
