Big Boi is one half of the successful and avant-garde hip-hop duo Outkast. Big Boi has been featured on other rap artist's tracks without his Outkast parter, Andre 3000, in the past, most notably the Missy Elliott hit, All N My Grill, and Trick Daddy's In Da Wind. However, Outkast's 2003 double album, Speakerbox/The Love Below is Big Boi and Andre's first attempts at making an entire album solo.
