Kickstarter is a website where users can raise funds for their creative projects via the crowd funding model. Many video game developers have started Kickstarter campaigns as a way to fund the development costs of producing a game. When posting the campaign, developers often include an estimated release date. The game's actual release date may vary considerably from the initial estimate.
