Homosexuality: A Philosophical Inquiry is a 1988 book about homosexuality by philosopher Michael Ruse. It has been called "a careful survey of rival theories of homosexuality" by law professor Richard Posner. Philosopher Edward Stein has criticized the book, writing that Ruse mistakenly suggests that defining sexual orientation in terms of sexual feelings rather than sexual behavior shows that a social constructionist view of the subject is false. Stein finds Ruse's discussion of social constructionism superficial.
