Is a more complete description of this news service available?
An article in Le Monde described Echo TV as a favorite forum among neo-fascists in Hungary. After Omen1229 added that material here, Norden1990 removed it first because he felt it was "POV" and then because he thought it was an editorial. It's not and I restored the material from Le Monde, but KœrteFa has removed it again, arguing that it gives an unbalanced view of the station. Here's what we know about Echo TV so far, according to media sources: it's conservative, Ferenc Szaniszló has used it as a medium to publicly call jews "garbage" and roma "apes," and Le Monde considers it a popular forum among fascists in Hungary. Do we know anything else about this station? Can others who are better informed provide other sources characterizing or describing the channel in other ways?
If not, considering that we have no other information about the station, we should include Le Monde's description, to help readers understand what Echo TV is. -Darouet (talk) 23:18, 26 April 2013 (UTC)
I did some searching and unfortunately, since 2010 Echo TV gets press almost entirely because of far-right anti-semitic and anti-roma politics. Hungary is a wonderful country with amazing people and an extraordinary history, but we don't need to pretend that Echo-TV is, right now, a part of that positive heritage. -Darouet (talk) 00:15, 27 April 2013 (UTC)
And in case anyone's interested, here's the paragraph mentioning Echo from the article in Der Spiegel:
"Neo-fascist thugs attacked Roma families, killing six people in a series of murders. The right-wing populists of the Fidesz Party won a two-thirds majority in the parliament, while the anti-Semitic Jobbik party captured 16.7 percent of the vote, making it the third-largest party in Hungary, next to the Socialists. Unknown vandals defiled the Holocaust Memorial with bloody pigs' feet. A new law granted the government direct or indirect control over about 80 percent of the media. The television channel Echo TV showed an image of Nobel laureate and Auschwitz survivor Imre Kertész together with a voiceover about rats. Civil servants can now be fired without cause. Krisztina Morvai, a member of the European Parliament for Jobbik, suggested that 'liberal-Bolshevik Zionists' should start thinking about 'where to flee and where to hide.'"
Clearly Der Spiegel thinks that Fidesz's election is relevant context to other events in the country, including Echo TV's broadcasts.-Darouet (talk) 20:51, 27 April 2013 (UTC)
Dear Darouet, please, note that this page is about Echo TV and not about Anti-Semitism is Hungary, so that Spiegel article is not that relevant. KœrteFa{ταλκ}21:17, 27 April 2013 (UTC)
Le Monde is not a sacrosanct newspaper which is always right. This is only an editorial article (and not a news...) from Joelle Stolz who also said that "hate destroys Hungary" and according to her "Orbán is a dangerous man because György Konrád and Ágnes Heller said that" (here). Darouet, the Misplaced Pages is an encyclopedia ant not a political forum where we use articles uncritically. According to Stolz Echo TV is a forum favored among neofascists in Hungary. But who are they "neo-fascists"? Of course she did not say names... On the other hand Antisemitism in Hungary is not more severe than in other countries. For example France is the country where some Jews were murdered in the last year... --Norden1990 (talk) 21:44, 27 April 2013 (UTC)
