Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here.
    Shortcuts

Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection)

After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.

Indefinite semi-protection: Sees constant unconstructive edits from an anonymous user using a changing IP in Indonesia: the user has been blocked constantly (and evades those blocks) for continuously making unconstructive edits on a wide variety of pages.--Mr Fink (talk) 17:14, 4 May 2013 (UTC)

List of Disney Channel series (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Roving IP adding fake entries to this list article. Two of the IPs used have been blocked for this, a third has just started. Blocks do not seem to be effective in stopping this. Geraldo Perez (talk) 16:12, 4 May 2013 (UTC)

Semi-protection: The article is still being vandalised by a drifting IP on a semi-regular basis. An on-going problem for several months now. Requires protecting for at least a month. 88.109.26.105 (talk) 10:46, 4 May 2013 (UTC)

    User talk:Ushau97/archive (edit | user page | history | links | watch | logs)

Extravaganza (music festival) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – This page has been undergoing constant IP edits for about the last 48 hours, many of which were vandalism and few to none were constructive. I reverted back to the last stable version I could find from about a week ago, undoing approximately 100 edits in the process. It looks like this is an event which will be taking place on the 19th or 20th of this month - I recommend semi-protection until then. --ElHef (Meep?) 03:45, 4 May 2013 (UTC)

    Fifth Harmony (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Michael Greiner 18:35, 4 May 2013 (UTC)

    Erika Jordan (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Indefinite create protection: Repeatedly recreated. Grammarxxx 19:32, 3 May 2013 (UTC)

Declined Meh, as my pal Writ Keeper might say. Only twice. Drmies (talk) 03:42, 4 May 2013 (UTC)

    2013 World Snooker Championship (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Temporary semi-protection: IP editors keep adding live scores to the results; to be consistent with WP:NOTNEWS some assistance in preventing this would help. --BlueFire10 about my edits? 18:04, 3 May 2013 (UTC)

    Burmese Python (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Pending changes: Significant percentage of edits are vandalism, but not frequent enough to warrant semi-. — PinkAmpers& 16:51, 3 May 2013 (UTC)

    Alejandro Mayorkas (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Pending changes: BLP policy violations – Mayorkas is a minor political figure, and his page has been attracting some vandalism and changes in infobox nationality from IPs. It would be good to have an extra level of review before these edits go live. — Mr. Stradivarius 14:46, 3 May 2013 (UTC)

    Bad Girls Club (season 7) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Semi-protection: High level of IP vandalism. Junebea1 (talk) 00:36, 3 May 2013 (UTC)

    Largest organisms‎ (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Semi-protection: This IP from Indonesia keeps copy-pasting content between articles and adding more or less random categories to articles. I can see no attempts from this contributor to communicate or explain edits. Several editors have tried to solve the problem, but the contributor keeps comming back using new IPs everytime.

Here are a few of the IPs:

    And some of the articles:

Largest organisms has been tagged {{very long}} since 2011, and our IP keeps adding fractions of sentences and references. (I just added {{rewrite}}.) I made one friendly attempt to talk to one of these IPs, but this is apparently pointless.

I propose semi-protecting these pages for a few months to make clear that this behaviour is unacceptable. --Fama Clamosa (talk) 08:04, 4 May 2013 (UTC)

    Current requests for unprotection

    Shortcuts

Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.

    • To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
    • Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
    • Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
    • If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.

Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Modern Day Escape (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Unprotection: Request unprotection and redirect to StandBy Records, per request on my talk page by Thatemooverthere (talk · contribs). — Cirt (talk) 02:19, 3 May 2013 (UTC)

Thatemooverthere (talk · contribs) has requested in a post to my talk page that after this redirect is created, it then be protected again, as a redirect. The admin may wish to discuss this with this user, I'll respectfully defer to your judgment. — Cirt (talk) 04:51, 3 May 2013 (UTC)

Current requests for edits to a protected page

    Shortcut

Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.

    • Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among {{Edit protected}}, {{Edit template-protected}}, {{Edit extended-protected}}, or {{Edit semi-protected}} to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed.
    • Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Misplaced Pages:Suggestions for COI compliance), the {{Edit COI}} template should be used.
    • Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Misplaced Pages:Requested moves, not here.
    • If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
    • This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.

    Fulfilled/denied requests

A rolling archive of the last seven days of protection requests can be found at Misplaced Pages:Requests for page protection/Rolling archive.
