Roberto Carvalho de Azevêdo (Salvador, Bahia, Brazil 3 October 1957) is a Brazilian diplomat, representantive of Brazil at the World Trade Organization since 2008. He is considered the most knowledgeable brazilian diplomat on comercial negotiations, well prepared and with a good transit on the WTO. He is the elected Director-General of the World Trade Organization, succeeding Pascal Lamy after September 1, 2013.

Personal life

Azevêdo is married and has two daughters.
