A couple of questions ...

Hi Piotrus. It's a while since I have been in contact. I trust you are well. I have a couple of questions/issues:-

1) The page (about the song) "Rose of No Man's Land" should (I believe) be called: "The Rose of No Man's Land". I'm not sure what the procedure is to rename this?

2) How do I apply for an article to be a "good article"?

Thanks in advance and best wishes Richard J Myers (talk)

Hi - thanks - yes your answer was fine - it gives me enough to go on for now. Best wishes - Richard J Myers (talk)

Problems with "Your King and Country Need You"

Hi, A couple of days ago I was creating and editing 3 related pages about world war 1 songs with links between each. Right in the middle of my (complicated) edits another editor "jumped in" and thought he knew what I was trying to do and started to rename pages that I was still working on (he didn't understand that there were three similar songs and not two!). Oh dear! Confusion. He has created an erroneous redirect page: "Your King and Country Need You (Pelham)" to link to Your King and Country Need You. Can I ask you to delete this so that I can move the relevant page to this title with the actual content that it should have - in other words this redirect is not required. If you can let me know when you have done this - please let's not have any more complication over this one. I just want to finish properly the work that I started. This has already wasted 2 hours of time. I left a note about editor etiquette on his talk page - he never replied - looks like I'm not the first he has caused problems for. Thanks in advance. Richard J Myers (talk)

Thanks for your reply. I have now fixed it myself as best I can by moving the re-direct page to a temporary name, then renaming "Your King and Country Need You" to Your King and Country Need You (pelham). I cannot use uppercase "p" as the old redirect page is still somewhere in the system. So we now have:-

I hope this all makes sense. Richard J Myers (talk)

Hi, Thanks for your help. I requested deletes of the redirect pages using: "db-g6|". A Bot had created more extra ones trying to fix this! But they have all gone now and the songs have (what I think are) the correct titles to avoid confusion. The confusion between these titles seems to be everywhere on the Internet and also elsewhere in Misplaced Pages - I have already fixed some of these. The links above have been adjusted to the current titles. Richard J Myers (talk)

Polish Casualties

Thanks for pointing out the need for page refs. I have hard copies of all the sources I used in article and will do a cleanup. Also should the need arise I can send PDF copies by E-mail of these sources. I am busy today and tomorrow working on the presentation for Chinese class tomorrow evening. I hope to get to cleanup on Wed. Regards--Woogie10w (talk) 15:53, 6 May 2013 (UTC)

WikiCup 2013 April newsletter

We are a week into Round 3, but it is off to a flying start, with Republic of Rose Island Sven Manguard (submissions) claiming for the high-importance Portal:Sports and Portal:Geography (which are the first portals ever awarded bonus points in the WikiCup) and Wales Cwmhiraeth (submissions) claiming for a did you know of sea, the highest scoring individual did you know article ever submitted for the WikiCup. Round 2 saw very impressive scores at close; first place New South Wales Casliber (submissions) and second place Colorado Sturmvogel_66 (submissions) both scored over 1000 points; a feat not seen in Round 2 since 2010. This, in part, has been made possible by the change in the bonus points rules, but is also testament to the quality of the competition this year. Pool C and Pool G were most competitive, with three quarters of participants making it to Round 3, while Pool D was the least, with only the top two scorers making it through. The lowest qualifying score was 123, significantly higher than last year's 65, 2011's 41 or even 2010's 100.

The next issue of The Signpost is due to include a brief update on the current WikiCup, comparing it to previous years' competitions. This may be of interest to current WikiCup followers, and may help bring some more new faces into the community. We would also like to note that this round includes an extra competitor to the 32 advertised, who has been added to a random pool. This extra inclusion seems to have been the fairest way to deal with a small mistake made before the beginning of this round, but should not affect the competition in a large way. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please feel free to contact one of the judges.

A rules clarification: content promoted between rounds can be claimed in the round after the break, but not the round before. The case in point is content promoted on 29/30 April, which may be claimed in this round. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Misplaced Pages:WikiCup/Reviews. Questions are welcome on Misplaced Pages talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Misplaced Pages:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Flags in info box

We seem to have an editor (Kpalion) who seems to be very opinionated about having flags used in the info boxes in the Tadeusz Kościuszko and Casimir Pulaski articles. He removed flags in both articles without discussion. I have restored them. See discussion-- Gwillhickers (talk) 07:19, 10 May 2013 (UTC)

Blue Army neutrality dispute

Piotrus, I just received a email message regarding a neutrality dispute on the Blue Army (Poland) page asking me to look into it. I thought perhaps you might be more familiar with the topic than I and that you might look into it also. There is a discussion currently taking place on the talk page. -- Gwillhickers (talk) 22:05, 10 May 2013 (UTC)

Why, to push a Polish POV? --IIIraute (talk) 08:16, 11 May 2013 (UTC)
Revisionists are, in fact, Holocaust (or any other genocide) DIMINISHERS, not deniers. U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum : "It is estimated that the Germans killed at least 1.9 million non-Jewish Polish civilians during World War II." -- Tobby72 (talk) 08:57, 11 May 2013 (UTC)
I think you are missing the point.--IIIraute (talk) 09:15, 11 May 2013 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for May 11

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Misplaced Pages appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Henryk Sienkiewicz, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Kamienica (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
