::::Please read the hook again. I'm not saying she's interesting just because she's a woman or Hui, but because she's one of the few women leaders of China, who also happens to be a Hui (a Muslim minority). AFAIK, she's the only female Hui leader in China or the world (although I can't find a source that says that). How is that not interesting? -] (]) 06:44, 16 May 2013 (UTC)

Liu Hui (politician)

( )
  • ... that Liu Hui, a Hui, is one of the few women among China's high-ranking officials?

Created by Zanhe (talk). Self nominated at 16:52, 9 May 2013 (UTC).

  • Created new on 9 May
  • Hook is appropriate length and style.
  • Facts verified in cited sources, & present in lead.
  • Article is long enough and uses encyclopedic tone (though I wish there were more information available!)
  • Good to go.

  • Article is currently short of 1500-character minimum. Nikkimaria (talk) 14:25, 14 May 2013 (UTC)
  • Hmm. Interestingly my browser counted 1502 characters. Anyways, I just added several sentences (a few hundred characters) more. Now it's comfortably above the minimum. -Zanhe (talk) 12:24, 15 May 2013 (UTC)
Whats so interesting about it to feature as a hook? The hook itself says that there are other women too. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 05:15, 16 May 2013 (UTC)
  • Does she have to be the only woman to be interesting? And besides being a woman, she's also a Hui, another rarity among Chinese leaders. -Zanhe (talk) 06:16, 16 May 2013 (UTC)
Of course the hook has to showcase something interesting. That's the basic criteria before new/5x/1500 characters and all that. If there are many other women and many other Huis, our subject doesn't showcase anything interesting. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 06:35, 16 May 2013 (UTC)
Please read the hook again. I'm not saying she's interesting just because she's a woman or Hui, but because she's one of the few women leaders of China, who also happens to be a Hui (a Muslim minority). AFAIK, she's the only female Hui leader in China or the world (although I can't find a source that says that). How is that not interesting? -Zanhe (talk) 06:44, 16 May 2013 (UTC)
