Michael Gordon (]) is an journalist working in Damascus when his colleague is murdered. Gordon wants to find out why. He is helped along by glamourous secret agent Yvonne (]), who is on the trail of a group of Nazi saboteurs.
Gordon enlists the help of Mathew Reed (]), a member of the American Consulate and discovers a plot to involve the Arabs, led by Abdul El Rashid (]} in an insurrection as a preliminary diversion to an attack on the Suez Canal by the Nazis. The encounter with the conspirators leaves Reed and Latimer dead and Cordon badly wounded, but the plot to attack the Suez Canal is thwarted.
