During an junior national career that included 21 caps and 12 goals, he played all India Level Football tournaments(including IFA shield, Federation cups, and NFL for Indian Bank), leading the Tamil Nadu team to its victory over West Bengal in 2005, in which he collected the Top Scorer award as the tournament's best player.
