It seems this formula rewards the pitcher with a lower dERA whenever there is an error by his teammates (i.e. batter gets to first on a fielding error.) Does that make sense, I would think it should be neutral? ] 15:41, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

The formula comes from Voros McCracken via Jay Jaffe (jay at futilityinfielder dot com).

I think we can give $H exactly rather than estimate it:

$H = H / (BFP - (HR + K + BB + HB)))
