The fictional characters of Power Rangers Megaforce include the Power Rangers, their enemies, and their friends and allies in the battle.

Megaforce Power Rangers

The Megaforce Power Rangers are the eponymous protagonists of the series. They are five teenagers with attitude chosen by Gosei to save the Earth from the Warstar. In order to transform into the Megaforce Rangers, they use the Gosei Morphers by calling out "It's Morphin' Time! Go Go Megaforce!". They wield the Power Cards in battle, which they use to perform certain attacks and to summon their personal weapons which merge to form the Megaforce Blaster. Each Ranger carries a Mega Blaster as a side arm that they use for special attacks.

Troy Burrows

Troy Burrows is new in town and a loner to start with, but he is fast at making friends when he joins the Megaforce. He had a tough upbringing that made him responsible and focused, making Troy leader material in the opinion of Gosei, which is combined with his compassion, loyalty, and support of the underdog. Troy also has dreams involving his team's predecessors fighting an unknown evil.

He wields the Dragon Sword in battle and pilots the Dragon MechaZord.

Troy is portrayed by Andrew Gray.

Noah Carver

Noah Carver is a tech geek and uses his intelligence rather than brute strength in battle. He is best friends with Jake and they are a perfect team together. Noah is also interested in the supernatural. He is also second-in-command of the team.

He wields the Shark Bowgun in battle and pilots the Shark MechaZord.

Noah is portrayed by John Mark Loudermilk.

Gia Moran

Gia Moran is labeled as "Miss Perfect". Gia is pretty, personable, skilled in martial arts, and as intelligent as she is confident. She and Emma have been best friends since they were very young, and this has not stopped despite now being in different social circles.

Gia wields the Tiger Claw in battle and pilots the Tiger MechaZord.

Gia is portrayed by Ciara Hanna.

Jake Holling

Jake Holling is out-going, optimistic, fun-loving, and fearless, whether on the battlefield or in social situations. He wants very much to make his identity as the Black Megaforce Ranger public, but like the others is sworn to secrecy. His only weakness is his crush on Gia.

Jake wields the Snake Axe in battle and pilots the Snake MechaZord.

Jake is portrayed by Azim Rizk.

Emma Goodall

Emma Goodall is a BMX biker who loves nature and wants to protect the environment, taking the alien attack on Earth very personally.

She wields the Phoenix Shot in battle and pilots the Phoenix MechaZord.

Emma is portrayed by Christina Masterson.

Allies

Gosei

Gosei is a supernatural guardian who is Zordon's apprentice, and was tasked by his mentor to be Earth's new guardian. Awakened upon being alerted of Warstar's invasion, Gosei recruits five teenagers to become the Megaforce Power Rangers. He has taken the physical appearance of a tiki head. The Gosei Morpher's design was inspired by Gosei.

Gosei is voiced by Geoffrey Dolan.

Tensou

Tensou is Gosei's faithful and playful robotic assistant who assists the Rangers by providing them new weapons and arsenal as well as locating their enemies with an advanced radar system if they are on the Earth.

Tensou is voiced by Estevez Gillespie.

Ernie

Ernie is the manager of the local juice bar "Ernie's BrainFreeze." He is frequently acquainted by the Rangers during their free time.

Ernie is portrayed by Shailesh Prajapati.

Mr. Burley

Mr. Burley is the high school science teacher at Harwood County High School. He is also considered to be a believer of the paranormal and other supernatural phenomena. Noah shows plenty of interest in his work.

Mr. Burley is portrayed by Ian Harcourt.

Robo Knight

Robo Knight at first appears in Troy's dream involving the previous Power Ranger teams fighting an unknown evil. It is later revealed that he was previously created by Gosei to serve as the protector of Earth and would emerge when the Earth is threatened. During his time in dormancy, Robo Knight lost some of his memories including the one where Gosei created him.

When the Mutants emerge to pollute the planet, Robo Knight arrives up and helps the Megaforce Rangers fight Hisser. Afterwards, Robo Knight leaves them. Gosei tells the Rangers that Robo Knight has to re-learn his origin if he and the Rangers are to combat the threats to Earth.

Robo Knight used to be very different from the Rangers. He fought without thinking about human sacrifices, and usually left the saving to the Mega Rangers. However, due to his convivence with human beings, he began to develop his own humanity and eventually decided to defend it due to guarding life being as important as protecting planet Earth itself.

Robo Knight has the ability to turn into the Lion Zord. The Lion Zord can also combine with a dump truck to become the Lion MechaZord. Robo Knight also possesses the Sky Lion Zord and the Sea Lion Zord which can combine with the Lion MechaZord to form the Gosei Grand Megazord.

Robo Knight is voiced by Chris Auer.

Wild Sword

An ancient weapon said to have untold might to the one who could release it from its resting place, a depression containing the sword embedded deep into hard, thick stone. It serves a similar purpose to another, more famous legendary sword: Excalibur. After a scuffle with Vrak for its possession, the Wild Sword choses the Megaforce Rangers as their rightful owners and allows them to be the vessels of its power, allowing them to achieve their Ultra Mode and become much stronger, thereby enabling the Rangers to stand a far better chance in battle against their enemies from this point onwards. The sword is empowered by the mighty avatar of the dragon and has a spirit of its own. Therefore one can only use its true power if it manages to earn its trust, something which only Troy managed to accomplish.

Past Rangers

Troy has been having a reoccurring dream where the current Power Rangers and Robo Knight are joined by the past Power Rangers in a fight against a common enemy congregated in great numbers, forming a massive armada.

High School Students

Jordan

Jordan is a classmate of the Mega Rangers. In an attempt to impress those around him, he falsely claimed to be a Power Ranger, more specifically the Red (leader) and went out to try and battle Warstar. However, after witnessing the real Rangers being defeated by Creepox and how harsh and serious their training regimen really is, he quits trying to be a hero and confesses his lie, causing him to lose all of his followers. However, due to this, he found a true friendship in Troy Burrows, the Red Ranger. As a side effect of having trained with the protagonists, he retains faster-than-normal reflexes.

Jordan is portrayed by Joshua McKenzie.

Roy

Roy was once a bully who picked up those smaller or weaker than himself, such as Howie, alongside his mate Barry. However, after Troy stood up to them and Howie protected them from Creepox by distracting him, he and Barry change their ways and become their friends with their former victim, returning his bug and displaying tenderness to both, redeeming themselves.

Roy is portrayed by Alex MacDonald.

Barry

Barry used to be a bully who tormented those lesser than himself in size or strength, such as Howie, along with his buddy Roy. They, however, reformed after Troy taught them good manners on how to treat others and how Howie bravely stood up against Creepox to protect them from certain trouble. Barry and Roy later give Howie back his bug and become fond of it, achieving amortization.

Barry is portrayed by Reece Rodewyk.

Howie

Howie is a young student who is initially unable to fight off bullying at the High School the Mega Rangers attend to. However, he admires Troy's coolness before Barry and Roy and, inspired by it, goes on and protects the two bullies from Creepox, who had them as his targets. In exchange for the favor, his former tormentors became his friends and returned the insect he collected back to him, left at the park because of the turmoil created by the Insectoid general.

Howie is portrayed by Cameron Bell.

Warstar

The Warstar (commonly referred to as Insectoids) are a race of insect-like aliens that are the main antagonists of the series.

They operate from a large mothership that is orbiting around the planet. After the seven initial onslaughts failed, and most of their forces were destroyed, the few remaining members strengthen their ranks anew by aligning themselves with another, equally villainous faction: the Toxic Mutants.

Their ultimate goal is to either subdue or eliminate the human species and conquer the Earth to use its natural resources and make it into an Insectoid planetary base in a permanent manner.

The hierarchy is group is somewhat defined, with the main members wielding either mobile or immobile personalized/user-coded weaponry, sporting silver-hued armor plating and bearing the emblem of the organization at a metallic label located at the chest.

Their symbol is a pentagon containing a flaming, crimson-hued aura and a sphere with three sharp claws at the top of it that extend downwards towards the center in a grasping fashion.

Admiral Malkor

Admiral Malkor is the moth-like leader of the Warstar army.

Being the boss of his clan, he combines power and intelligence quite equally. He boasts tremendous strength and some of his attacks are enough to destroy an entire world.

Malkor is pleased with the Earth and eager to conquer it due to its abundance of resources and livable environment and although his right-hand Creepox initially says that humanity will not be a problem, the Admiral quickly notices that mankind will have to be put out of comission if the invasion is to take place, particularly the Power Rangers and some time later their mechanical ally Robo Knight.

The aspect he is most remarkable in, however, is that, differently from previous villains, Malkor treats his subordinates far better, contributing to the true respect and loyalty of his followers. He gives time for his servants to prepare and execute moves against the Rangers while he oversees the operation from the Warstar base and advises changes to be made in the scheme when necessary.

Despite his army joining forces with the Mutants initially led by Bigs and Bluefur and being the main medium of attack against the Rangers alongside their new commander Vrak, he remains the major villain in the series.

He wields a sharp and powerful axe-like weapon colored in a similar fashion to his armor clothing and can be swung with deadly force to destroy anything by either slicing through or pulverizing its target.

Although at first he may be seen and described as lazy due to his hulking disposition, Malkor is actually very clever and cunning; he is also very accurate in judgement and displays plenty of knowledge no matter the subject of analysis before him. In fact, he is the only one whom Creepox and Vrak see as a true, capable leader to follow.

Admiral Malkor is voiced by Campbell Cooley.

Creepox

Creepox is a mantis-like warrior who is one of the highest-ranking affiliates of Warstar, one of the strongest Insectoids and Malkor's right-hand henchman.

Though Creepox does not carry any mobile weapons, he would use his own body as one during battle. He uses his large bladed mantis-like forearms similar to sickles in executing attacks.

After Troy refused to fight him during a confrontation, it led him to believe humans are weak and, from that point on, they became arch-rivals.

Creepox is driven entirely by rage, tends to act by means of brute force, and also has a bit of a superiority complex when it comes to humans, believing himself to be better in every way. He has difficulty in agreement with Vrak, with whom he disagrees and discusses frequently due to their opposing natures, eventually causing them to hate and despise each other. Nonetheless, like his colleague Vrak, he shows legitimate respect and absolute loyalty to Malkor. He also has both the pride and code of a warrior.

Creepox later faces Troy in battle in "Stranger Ranger", and for most of the time he had the upper hand, though Troy managed to win the battle, using Creepox's cocky attitude to his advantage and attacking him while he had his guard down. Later, Creepox comes back intent on finishing the Rangers for good, by attempting to take them down one by one. After a lengthy and evenly matched battle, Troy finally destroys Creepox in the final lunge of their confrontation, though he is revived by the Zombats. He is ultimately destroyed for good by the Ultra Gosei Great Megazord but not before standing his ground for a short time, nearly matching it.

He is later reminded by Vrak when the latter warns Shadow Serpent about the human potential to adapt and learn and that the Mutant should not commit the same error of underestimating the Rangers as his Insectoid predecessor.

Creepox is voiced by Mark Mitchinson.

Vrak

Vrak is a member of alien royalty with access to very advanced technology (such as the Zombats which he uses to make either Insectoids or Mutants grow).

Being a tactician, Vrak suggested that Warstar should study the humans in order to discover their weaknesses. Afterwards, he also conducts sophisticated schemes to battle the Rangers and tends to act with reasoning, leaving his subordinates to do the dirty work, though he can hold his own in a fight against almost any foe and is usually the one in charge to attack the Rangers, directly or indirectly, either by himself or with the help of his cohorts.

In battle, Vrak can alter his form where he wields a trident-like lance in his usual treehopper-like armor Warstar form and uses clawed gauntlets in his centipede-style battle armor (which greatly resembles the Mutants) even bearing the same symbol as its true members.

He is later revealed to have a younger brother named Vekar, who has the title of "Prince", meaning Vrak bears this rank as well and, being older, Vrak is likely more independent, focused and mature than his sibling.

However, Vrak's lead trait is his self-centered and self-devoted persona. He mostly treats others as disposable, has no real restraints and will do something only if it benefits him, having great desire on control and strength, which is the main reason why he seeks ancient artifacts such as the Wild Sword.

Nevertheless, after living so long with the Insectoids, Vrak does develop a great respect for both them and the insects of this planet, claiming that, while bugs on Earth will never evolve enough to rise up against humanity, their kin, which comes from outer space, will do it for them. He even considers to be an Insectoid himself despite spending most of his time guised as a Mutant and has seemingly learned to see a truly capable leader figure in Admiral Malkor, one of the only beings he bears respect other than himself.

His ultimate goal is to take over and rule the Earth. He is willing to use anyone or anything to achieve his objective. And, due to his high position in the chain-of-command in the armies of both Insectoids and Mutants, he will use and abuse of both monsters in various ways.

Due to being able to change form and suit his likeness to blend in with other evil factions by forming a guise, Vrak is the intermediary between Admiral Malkor and Bigs and Bluefur, and the one responsible for the alliance between the two armies. Shortly thereafter, he also becomes the leader of the Toxic Mutants.

Vrak is voiced by Jason Hood.

Loogies

Loogies are the lime green-colored soldiers of Warstar. They wield daggers that double as blasters.

Zombats

Zombats are robotic one-eyed bat-like creatures used by Vrak in groups of six to make Warstar Monsters and Toxic Monsters grow by swarming on their defeated bodies.

Warstar Monsters

These are the Insectoid monsters used by the Warstars which serves as the monsters of the week. To make a Warstar Monster grow, the Zombats would be unleashed where they would swarm on the Warstar Monster's defeated body to make them grow.

  • Scaraba (voiced by Anthony Ray Parker): A scarab-like Warstar that is able to create large boulders to attack enemies. He is destroyed by the Megaforce Rangers' Megaforce Blaster.
  • Yuffo (voiced by Joel Tobeck): A ladybug-like Warstar scientist who attempts to capture humans to conduct experiments on, with a design reminiscent of a UFO. His abilities include being able to trap people in a coccoon like substance and he can also split himself into five small UFOs to evade enemies. He is destroyed by the Gosei Great Megazord's Victory Charge.
  • Virox (voiced by Kevin Harty): A stinkbug-like Warstar that is able to sneeze out a virus that turns people into Loogies. He is destroyed by Sea Gosei Great Megazord's Sea Strike.
  • Dragonflay (voiced by Robert Mignault): A dragonfly-like Warstar who is able to run at great speeds and shoot lasers from his eyes. Destroyed by Land Gosei Great Megazord's Land Strike.
  • Beezara (voiced by Sarah Banasiak): A wasp-like Warstar who is a member of alien royalty like Vrak. Beezara has the ability of producing a fluid that turns males into unwilling servants. Her fluid also turned Gia and Emma against each other before the girls overcome her spell. Beezara is destroyed by Sky Gosei Great's Sky Strike.
  • Dizchord (voiced by Dean Young): A cricket-like Warstar that fancies himself as the best musician in the universe. He wants to use his music to destroy all of the humans on Earth and the sound is extremely painful to most people who hear it until Emma negates its effects with her own voice. He is destroyed by the Gosei Great Megazord's Victory Charge.

Toxic Mutants

The Toxic Mutants (mostly referred simply as Mutants) are a race of beings that were produced through the accumulation of toxic slime and sludge. They thrive off of pollution and think that poisoning the world will make it more livable for them. Their base is at an underground cavern below a closed factory of noxious chemicals. It also includes a large lake in the cave's vicinity where some of the Mutants dwell or stay and where sometimes the main members gather to plan their moves against the Megaforce Rangers and Robo Knight.

They were discovered by Malkor and enlisted by Vrak to help fight the Rangers after Creepox's death as his replacements. Their objective is to turn the Earth into a toxic planet, which would be a paradise for their kind and a living hell to any other form of life as a way of punishing humanity for their neglicence and carelessness to nature responsible for their very creation.

All mutants bear the badge of their army. Their allegiance is either engraved in their bodies (as with most Mutants) or held in either a belt (Bluefur and Vrak) or a locket (Bigs). Their symbol is a sphere containing curves in a wobbling way on both sideways and held by a loose link at the right half while free at the left one.

They work well alongside the aliens and take to lead the raids shortly after the alliance with Warstar, conducting most of their schemes in unison. Together with the Insectoids, they intend to claim the Earth for themselves. They were initially led by Bigs and Bluefur. However, after they joined forces with Warstar, Vrak took over.

Due to this, their army became a subsidiary of Warstar, with all Mutants serving Admiral Malkor indirectly through Vrak's intermedium.

Bigs

Bigs is a slimy Toxic Mutant who was created from the pollution made by a toxic dump. He calls himself a slimeball when he is first introduced to the battlefield along with Bluefur and Hisser.

He is smart enough to know when to retreat if overpowered or running out of energy. He is a general of the Toxic Mutants alongside his cohort Bluefur and works beside their new leader: Vrak. His influence allows Bigs and Bluefur to notice that, due to humans' adaptative potential, truly defeating them is far more difficult than it first appeared.

He uses a scepter-like cane to fight and can dissolve to evade being hit by weapons as well as turn into an amorphous state to evade being hit by or deflect any attacks.

His personality tends to be goofy and he is joyful of the alliance of the Mutants with the Insectoid aliens, taking it as a chance to at last rule the Earth.

He shows great respect and equality to his comrades such as referring to himself as a 'fellow mutant' while summoning Shadow Serpent.

Bigs is voiced by Charlie McDermott.

Bluefur

Bluefur is a large ape-like Toxic Mutant with tarantula-like features. He enjoys destruction to an extreme level and is uplifted by the very idea of bashing the Rangers and turn them to dust by stomping them.

Bluefur has little patience and tends to lose his temper whenever things don't go his way and often leaves a burning footprint after he stomps.

He used to behave in a seemingly unthinking manner and attack blindly in the heat of battle much like Creepox, although he is more knowledgeable and did tended to think before act.

However, after Vrak joins them as the new leader of the Toxic Mutants, he becomes a general alongside his comrade Bigs and, due to his influence, goes to think more about planning before executing and realizes the Mega Rangers and Robo Knight are tougher to defeat than he first imagined due to the ability humans have to adjust themselves to new challenges.

He wields a double-headed kanabo in battle and can use it with titanic force to pummel his opponents.

Like Bigs, he also shows quite some esteem to his colleagues and greatly values them, calling Hisser a 'buddy' and showing concern for Shadow Serpent.

Bluefur is voiced by Jay Simon.

Toxic Monsters

These are the mutant monsters used by the Toxic Mutants which serves as the monsters of the week. The Zombats can also make them grow.

  • Hisser (voiced by Estevez Gillespie): A snake/pill bug-like monster who accompanies Bigs and Bluefur in their first fight with the Rangers. He can dig underground, spin extremely fast, and spew green slime that proves highly corrosive and poisoning. He is destroyed by the Lion MechaZord's Victory Strike. Hisser later returns as one of Distractor's phantoms who is eventually given physical form to fight against the Megaforce Rangers. He battled and was beaten by Jake while he was at his Ultra Mode and destroyed alongside the others by the Rangers' new finishing move, the Dynamic Charge.
  • Psychotick (voiced by Kelson Henderson): An energy-draining turtle/tick-like monster that is summoned by Vrak. He has an appearance somewhat like that of a water fiend (Kappa) and can do a Tick Attack that can launch ticks at anyone. Psychotick was enlisted by Vrak to drain Robo Knight's powers in order to forcefully convert Robo Knight to the Warstar side once his energy is fully drained. He is destroyed by the Gosei Grand Megazord's Grand Strike. Psychotick was later revived as a ghost by Distractor and given life as a member of his army. He then battled and lost to Gia while she was at her Ultra Mode and was destroyed along with his comrades by the Ultra Mode's Dynamic Charge.
  • Shadow Serpent (voiced by Adam Gardiner): A hard-shelled snail/sea serpent-like monster. He wields two swords in battle, can shoot lasers from his finger, breathe fire and is able to steal shadows from other living beings or to attack with his tongue, rendering anyone who loses a shadow to be rendered motionless due to having half of their essence lost. Shadow Serpent is hired by the Toxic Mutants and Vrak to deal with Robo Knight and the Mega Rangers. He is a formidable opponent, so the Rangers and Robo Knight are forced to work together to overcome the odds, with the Rangers acting as bait, and defeat him at first through Robo Knight's Vulcan Cannon. He is then enlarged where he fights the Rangers in their Megazords. When the Gosei Great and Gosei Grand Megazords prove insufficient, they fuse into the Gosei Great Grand Megazord and finally defeat him with the Gosei Great Grand Megazord's Double Strike.
  • Distractor (voiced by Scott Wills): An illusion-casting specter/spider-like mutant. He was enlisted by Vrak to cause a diversion on the Rangers so that he can steal the Wild Sword. Upon being charged up by Vrak using the Wild Sword, Distractor was enhanced so that the illusions of past monsters (consisting of Hisser, Psychotick, Gremlin, Skyfish, Mummy and Kesaran) can become real. Distractor was destroyed by the Megaforce Rangers' Dynamic Charge in Ultra Mode.
  • Gremlin (voiced by Oscar Burt-Shearer): A vaguely gremlin/flea-like mutant who was initially a phantom formed to distract the Rangers and later took physical form thanks to the power that Vrak infused on Distractor with the Wild Sword. He was defeated alongside Kesaran by Troy while he was in his Ultra Mode and destroyed along his comrades when the Ultra Mode battle state of the Megaforce Rangers was activated for the first time, channeling their power into the Dynamic Charge attack.
  • Mummy: A mummy/centipede-like mutant He was created as a ghost and later given life by Distractor. He was defeated by Emma while she was at her Ultra mode state. He was destroyed by the Dynamic Charge attack.
  • Skyfish (voiced by Jeremy Birchall): A fish/mosquito-like mutant who has water-based skills. He was created as a ghost and later given life by Distractor as part of his army due to the power of the Wild Sword. He fought and lost to Noah transformed into his Ultra Mode and was then destroyed along with his fellows by the Ultra Mode's Dynamic Charge attack.
  • Kesaran: A cotton/leech-like mutant who was created and later given physical form by Distractor as a member of his ghost army. He fought Troy alongside Gremlin and was defeated with his comrade by the Red Ranger while in his Ultra Mode. After that, he and all of his cohorts were ultimately destroyed by The Ultra Mode's Dynamic Charge attack.
  • Nojoke (voiced by Simon McKinney): A crow/scorpion-like mutant who has the ability to trap people inside gourds and turn them into a nourishing drink after they dissolve within them. He claims to do so simply because human laughter annoys him. Nojoke can also flap his wings to do wind attacks and bind anyone with tickling rings. He traps Gia in this way and flees, with the Mega Rangers in hot pursuit until Robo Knight shoots and stops him in his tracks. Nojoke even had to advise Bluefur not to laugh or he will be absorbed into his gourds. During the fight against Nojoke, Emma, Troy and Jake are captured as well, forcing Robo Knight and Noah to overcome their differences and fight together to defeat him. When Noah and Robo Knight tell the "Why Do Seagulls Fly Over the Sea" joke to Nojoke, it made him laugh which resulted in Nojoke destroying the gourd which freed his captives. The Rangers then assume their Ultra Mode and proceed to pummel Nojoke and destroy him with the Ultra Strike and Knight Dynamic attacks. Vrak then sends the Zombats to make Nojoke grown into a giant. The Gosei Sea Megazord uses it's water attacks to soak Nojoke's wing. The Gosei Grand Megazord does his Grand Strike to destroy Nojoke.
