Help?
Since I don't know how this works, I thought I should mention I replied to your post on my talk page... you can remove this edit as soon as you see it! Kat, Queen of Typos 06:22, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

No problem! I would've done the same thing. --Woohookitty 21:02, 16 January 2006 (UTC)
An Esperanzial note
As I remember, the last spam that was handed out was on the 20th of December last year, so I think it's time for another update. First and foremost, the new Advisory Council and Administrator General have been elected. They consist of myself as Admin General and FireFox, Titoxd, Flcelloguy and Karmafist as the Advisory Council. We as a group met formally for the first time on the 31st of Decembe. The minutes of this meeting can be found at WP:ESP/ACM. The next one is planned for tonight (Sunday 29 January) at 20:30 UTC and the agenda can be found at WP:ESP/ACM2.
In other news, Karmafist has set up a discussion about a new personal attack policy, which it can be found here. Other new pages include an introductory page on what to do when you sign up, So you've joined Esperanza... and a welcome template: {{EA-welcome}} (courtesy of Bratsche). Some of our old hands may like to make sure they do everything on the list as well ;) Additionally, the userpage award program proposal has become official is operational: see Misplaced Pages:Esperanza/User Page Award to nominate a userpage or volunteer as a judge. Also see the proposed programs page for many new proposals and old ones that need more discussion ;)
Other than that, I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and wish you an Esperanzially good new WikiYear :D Thank you! --Celestianpower 16:57, 29 January 2006 (UTC)

Rollback
Normally, I'd do the same. However, if the page is so huge (as in this case) that having to load it an extra couple of times would use an unnecessarily large amount of bandwidth (my internet access is bandwidth-limited), I'll sometimes use rollback to save the load.
I reverted your edits because the page is not in need of general cleanup - it's too long and in need of dividing up along provincial lines, and tags to that extent were already in the article. Ambi 03:07, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
Another Esperanzial note...
Hi again Esperanzians! Well, since our last frolic in the realms of news, the Advisory Council has met twice more (see WP:ESP/ACM2 and WP:ESP/ACM3). As a result, the charter has been ammended twice (see here for details) and all of the shortcuts have been standardised (see the summary for more details). Also of note is the Valentines ball that will take place in the Esperanza IRC channel on the 14th of February (tomorrow). It will start at 6pm UTC and go on until everyone's had enough! I hope to see you all there! Also, the spamlist has been dissolved - all Esperanzians will now recieve this update "newsletter".
The other major notice I need to tell you about is the upcoming Esperanza Advisory Council Elections. These will take place from 12:00 UTC on February 20th to 11:59 UTC on February 27th. The official handing-over will take place the following day. Candidates are able to volunteer any time before the 20th, so long as they are already listed on the members list. Anyone currently listed on the memberlist can vote. In a change since last time, if you have already been a member of the leadership, you may run again. Due to the neutrality precident, I will not vote for anyone.
Yours, as ever, Esperanzially,

Bhai Himmat Singh copyvio
Hi Szyslak, I noticed that you tagged Bhai Himmat Singh as a copyvio and then reversed yourself since the indicated source, sikhiwiki.org, was GFDL.
After looking into it some more and dealing with User:Kiop, I think the source originally came from sikh-history.com which is not GFDL, and was illegally copied by sikhiwiki.org. So I've put the copyvio tag back on.
Can you double check me and let me know if there is something I've missed? Thanks. --Duk 20:28, 18 February 2006 (UTC)

I redid the section on Bill Clinton. You were right, I did write that one line. It was a mistake. I apologise. Thanks for the compliment.

Neologisms
Hi there, a while ago you made an edit on the Misplaced Pages:Avoid neologisms guideline. I am proposing a revision to the guideline and I'm soliciting your comments. You can find the link to my rewrite at Misplaced Pages talk:Avoid neologisms -- cmh 01:07, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
Sockpuppet problem
Just so you know, I am fairly certain that User:909er is a sockpuppet of User:UCRGrad, created for the purpose of helping UCRGrad push his POV on the article, possibly for use in evading 3RR in the future, or (at best) to illustrate a point. I compiled some proof, but I'm not sure what to do with it or where I should put it. Adding a suspected sockpuppet tag would only make things worse, I fear... –Tifego 00:39, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
On second thought, I think I'll try putting up those tags (there are 2 of them now), and post at RfI if they don't stop. Sorry to bother you. –Tifego 02:56, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
RfAr suggestion
Let's make a subuser page about this and start putting stuff there in preparation for the RfAr. We can use its talk page for discussion, since it's cumbersome to have a 5-way conversation with comments duplicated across all of our talk pages. –Tifego 09:04, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
Hi, I made a user subpage for preparation, and I propose we use its talk page for any further discussion about this. –Tifego 04:18, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
{{TotallyDisputed-section}}
My apologies about that; for some reason, I was quite convinced that it was wrong. I'm not sure why, because I can clearly see that it isn't wrong looking at it now... Thank you for correcting my correction. :-) Jude (talk, contribs, email) 12:36, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
Old Skool Esperanzial note
Since this isn't the result of an AC meeting, I have decided to go Old Skool. This note is to remind you that the elections are taking place now and will end at 23:50 UTC on 2006-04-29. Please vote here. Thanks. --Celestianpower 20:42, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
Request to reopen Rex071404 (talk · contribs) RfAr #4
In light of recent sockpuppeting by Rex071404 (talk · contribs) a/k/a/ Merecat (talk · contribs) to violate the permanent ban on his editing of John Kerry, I've requested the fourth and most recent 'Rex' RfAr be reopened and if appropriate, the remedies re-defined and re-applied. As a prior petitioner of that RfAr, I'm notifying you here. Thank you. -- User:RyanFreisling @ 23:54, 5 May 2006 (UTC)

About your sig again, sorry…
I notice your great explanation of your signature image on your user-page, which is frankly a lot more helpful than some. Unfortunately, and I can only assume that you missed it which is hardly surprising, the guidelines on signatures have been modified recently to exclude images from signatures. Sorry, but people are using huge enormous brutes and it's just too much. So it would be great if you could instead use the {{IPA}} formatting; this would also have the benefit of scaling with the text. I have taken a swipe at reproducing the IPA here and I came up with this:
- sɪzlæk
I am in the process of consulting the developers, because the system has also changed how it handles template within signatures, and it might well be that the SUBSTitution would be handled automagically.
If not, you could simply use <span "class="IPA">
which is in fact just about all that {{IPA}} does (well it adds title="Pronunciation in IPA"
also, which you might want to try).
If you are agreeable, I can set up a job in AWB and do the historical replacement for you once you are happy that the replacement is appropriate.
HTH HAND —Phil | Talk 16:03, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- I have just had confirmation from the developers (actually Rob Church) that the template handling in signatures is like this: if you were to enter your sig as
…{{IPA|sɪzlæk}}…
, it would actually be saved as…{{subst:IPA|sɪzlæk}}…
and would work fine, so you could be "szyslak sɪzlæk (t, c, e)" again. HTH HAND —Phil | Talk 17:13, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
