Hi Moxy, could you please contact me or the Arbitration Committee through the Misplaced Pages email extension (which you have not activated) or at nw.wikipediagmail.com or arbcom-llists.wikimedia.org? If you do the latter, we're going to need to go through a whole process to make sure that it is indeed you who is emailing us, so the former set of choices would be preferable. Saskatchewan's population
Your edits to Saskatchewan Population numbers do not reflect out-migration including the young children leaving Saskatchewan with out-migrants.
Statistics Canada CANSIM Table 051-0017 clearly demonstrates an increasing population decline. In 2010 the out-migration was approximately 15,000. That number increased in 2011 by approximately 16.3% to around 17,500. In 2012 the out-migration increased by 16.3% to over 20,000 people leaving the province.
Statistics Canada has also identified the source of out-migration as overwhelmingly immigrants sponsored directly by the Government of Saskatchewan.
Approximately 65% of all births recorded as population increases are babies and children born to out-migrating immigrants.
Finally, analysis of out-migrants since 2007, when the current ruling government was elected, shows that to date over 89,000 people have left Saskatchewan since 2007. Applying statistical analysis to the curve plotting out-migration shows the number of people that will have left Saskatchewan since 2007 will exceed 100,000 people by the end of 2013.
Correcting for these variations, it is clear that Saskatchewan's population remains unchanged at approximately one million people, with the only discrepancy being the yearly sponsored group of immigrants numbering between 10,000 & 20,000. This immigrant group migrates out of Saskatchewan at a rate of 60% within two years & 90% within five years. Said another way, nine it of ten immigrants leave Saskatchewan within five years. This accounts for the continuing lack of change from Saskatchewan's population of one million. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.114.38.33 (talk) 14:38, 3 August 2013 (UTC)
FYI
Hi Moxy, Hope you feeling better. Saw the recent stressful matter on your talk page.Wanted to bring something to your attention and ask that you keep an eye out. First, see this back and forth conversation.
Then, see these edits I just made to these articles.
I expect a sock of a recently indefinitely banned editor may emerge, take notice and contest. In fact, I wonder if one may already exist, editing both before and after the ban.
Anyways, please keep an eye out, and keep up the good work as usual. Cheers, Hwy43 (talk) 05:23, 6 August 2013 (UTC)
Help Project newsletter : Issue 7
The Help Project Newsletter
Issue VII - August 2013
Hello from Hong Kong, and the Wikimania DevCamp! Just a quick bulletin to update everyone on recent goings-on:
- There was a Wikimedia blog post about our experience at the Open Help Conference.
- Based on discussions at the Open Help Conference, Seeeko, Ocaasi and the wub have drafted a series of guidelines for writing and improving help pages.
- There is now also a system in place for assessing help pages by quality and importance. See Misplaced Pages:Help Project/Assessment for more details and the two scales we are using.
- A project collaboration has been started, the first one is focusing on the above mentioned Assessment. Discussions about this are welcome at Misplaced Pages talk:Help Project#Current collaboration (and the next).
- Misplaced Pages:New contributors' help page/questions was merged into Misplaced Pages:Teahouse/Questions
- A couple of other mergers have been proposed:
- Help:Introduction to talk pages and Help:Introduction to policies and guidelines have both been overhauled and updated to use the new tutorial design.
Suggestions for future issues are welcome at Misplaced Pages:Help Project/Newsletter.
If you don't wish to receive this newsletter on your talk page in future then just edit the participants page and add "no newsletter" next to your name.

Hi, Moxy. Haven't heard from you in a while at Talk:Mariah Carey, though I'd gotten the impression the two of us had reached the outlines of a reasonable compromise consensus. Since no one else seems to be jumping in after nearly a week, i thought you and I could work out the details. I have to say that so far, in the tradition at Misplaced Pages at its best, we seem to have been able to work through a good-faith disagreement in overall polite, cordial and collegial discussion. After eight years here, that's still a relief, let me tell you! Let's continue our discussion there, and I hope to hear from you soon. With regards, Tenebrae (talk) 16:42, 18 August 2013 (UTC)

I've restored the redirect at this title. Since it came from consensus at an AFD, it's not something that can unilaterally be undone. All of the history remains, though, so if you want some of it merged over, feel free! It's still there. But the redirect should remain. Now, if you think there is a better target for that redirect, you might want to head over to WP:RFD and discuss the matter. If you think the AFD was improperly closed or decided, Deletion Review is thataway. Hope this helps. UltraExactZZ ~ Did 13:15, 22 August 2013 (UTC)
- I will bring this up when I have more time.... There was NO consensus for a redirect ...that is clear as day... there is to merger the info ....not blank it.-- Moxy (talk) 15:44, 22 August 2013 (UTC)
- When an article is merged into another article, though, the title of the original article is routinely left as a redirect to the newly merged article. Since the entire content of the article is still in the history, there is no reason whatsoever not to redirect now. Put another way, if this article had been deleted outright, I likely would have come by and put in a redirect anyway per WP:BOLD or whatever. It's a reasonable target, and the current title is a reasonable thing to redirect. In any event, even if you're right about the consensus against a redirect (and I don't see that in the debate - quite the opposite), you need to make that case at WP:RFD. I was not exposed to arbcom so far other than watching, and now - involved - find it a questionable system: so much influence given to a few people, I changed the mentioned link: it now takes you to an exemplary discussion of opera's traditional side navbox vs. infobox. - BTW, I've been to Montreal, Vancouver, the Canadian side of Niagara Falls and once out in rural land with a gravel road across the border from Maine, driving from there and looping around to come into New York, and I have to say Canada is one of the most beautiful and one of the friendliest and downright civilized places on earth. - Hi, Moxy. Hope you're hanging in there. When you get a chance, your input on the solution you and I worked on at Talk:Mariah Carey would be valuable, and since it's been a week since other editors (positively) commented, I think we might have created something workable that can be implemented. Let us all know what you think! With regards, Tenebrae (talk) 14:47, 16 September 2013 (UTC)

Hi Moxy, You may know I've been progressively very ill-- I've had 3 hospitalizations in 4 months. I've had little time for the Misplaced Pages, and still wouldn't be able to do the following anyway. Do you know how to remove watermarks? Each of the feature photos on the Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and the photos of each member in their infoboxes bear the great work from the same photographer, as well as their band photo and one more on the Stephen Stills article with one of him and Neil Young. Can you remove those watermarks? If not, can you find someone who does? Please, they are really good photos. --Leahtwosaints (talk) 20:29, 9 September 2013 (UTC)

UrbanNerd's socks
Rather than simply marking them on his user page, I might suggest bringing each incarnation up at WP:SPI. Not only could it lead to quicker blocks (especially when he inevitably falls into his habits of attacking or stalking editors), but depending on the potential for collateral damage, the people who work that area might be able start applying range blocks. Resolute 14:43, 23 September 2013 (UTC)
- At Misplaced Pages:Sockpuppet investigations/UrbanNerd/Archive (very bottom) they said they need a range...so I was making a list in hopes that after 8 to 10 IP's we would have enough to do something about it. I have no clue what they mean by a range so was gathering this data since the first 3 IP's seems not to be enough info? -- Moxy (talk) 14:50, 23 September 2013 (UTC)
- A range, in this context, is a block of IP addresses available to someone. In the case of a person being dynamically assigned an IP, they would get it from a pool of addresses. For example: 200.200.200.1 to 200.200.200.254. A range block, if enacted, would block all of those addresses. The problem with range blocks though is the risk of collateral damage. Looking at some of the IPs you have tagged, a couple are very small - a range block would only hit about 1,000 addresses. But at least one would affect 256,000 if the entire range is blocked, and that is probably too much. Based on a note User:Hwy43 left on my talk page though, it seems the potential link between him and the blocked sockmaster PhilthyBear is really quite strong. If i get a chance later, I might try to compile some behavioural history between the two (and the latest IPs) and roll it all into an SPI, and possibly a community ban discussion. Resolute 14:16, 24 September 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Misplaced Pages appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Geography of Canada, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Selwyn Range (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

David Gilmour
Hi Moxy. After reading the WP article on Gilmour today, I became concerned by the huge amount of content on the "Equipment" section, which contains some poor English, was difficult to read because of a huge long paragraph, and is also perhaps a violation of copyright and a case of too much non-notable info as per WP:FANCRUFT.
I have just looked at the old "Revision History" of the article and noticed that in March 2012 you (rightly in my opinion) removed a lot of the content. Unfortunately it was later put back again by another editor. Perhaps you might like to have a look at the article and decide if a lot of the content can be trimmed again. In my opinion there's a good case for removing a lot of it, although in my case I only did two relatively minor edits. I divided the huge paragraph into two and removed one non-notable sentence. Deletion of Heritage Minutes from 'See also' sections
Hi Moxy, I noted your deletion of Heritage Minutes from the 'See also' sections of a few articles I posted them to. Perhaps you might reconsider by reviewing the MOS's advice on such links, which do not need to be directly related to the article. The last paragraph on the MOS's 'See also' guideline reads: "...links in the 'See also' section do not need to be directly related to the topic of the article, because one purpose of 'See also' links is to enable readers to explore tangentially related topics."
The aim of adding Heritage Minutes to the 'See also' of the John Cabot, Iroquois, and similar articles is simple. These articles reflect subjects which are or made significant contributions to Canada's history and thus its heritage. They are frequently viewed by readers and students studying those subjects, who may be also interested in related Canadian subjects that are covered in the Minutes. The Minutes article is not solely a listing; it also discusses the Canadian institutions and others and who believe that providing its citizens with context on important historical events amounts to a civic duty. Planning of a significant expansion to the Heritage Minutes is currently underway. I hope you can view the Heritage Minutes link in 'See also' sections as an important useful addition to our readership. Best: HarryZilber (talk) 13:30, 3 October 2013 (UTC)
- In the future try to incorporate links in the articles over spamming it all over. As for relevant - they are not - they will not help anyone understand the topic at hand....looks like an attempt to up traffic to a page you like. I will be removing more in the future. ---15:07, 3 October 2013 (UTC)
- "looks like an attempt to up traffic to a page you like"? That is funny. How many Wikipedians work on pages they aren't interested in? Do you? My contributions are strictly voluntary and unpaid as with most other contributors—I don't work on articles I'm uninterested in— but more to point, adding items to the 'See also' section that contribute to readers knowledge on related topics shouldn't be viewed as a negative. Your view of relevance is different from mine, but it would be mistake to think its superior.
- Did you, by chance, review the part of the MOS that reads "...links in the 'See also' section do not need to be directly related to the topic of the article"? It appears not. Whether or not you agree with it, its part of the MOS and should be respected. Best: HarryZilber (talk) 03:48, 4 October 2013 (UTC)
- To be honest I can see all the episodes being a good external link over a see also link to the page. Ok I will take the time to source every episode to that you have the external links available to put in external link sections. This would be much more useful to our readers then just a see also link. I would be careful in adding them all at ones as others may see this as site spam...I will also add some as I go. What do you think - good solution - that helps our readers better? -- Moxy (talk) 20:34, 4 October 2013 (UTC)
- Adding 'External links's to the individual episode pages at Historica.ca would certainly be useful to the reader, however it is unlikely to draw such people into viewing other episodes on similar topics at that website. Nevertheless your efforts in adding such External links will be appreciated. Best: HarryZilber (talk) 04:29, 5 October 2013 (UTC)

Hello, I would really like to know what in specific about the articles are a reason to deem inappropriate? Learning is the first step to changing please tell us what in particular is the problem. He is a young boy who wants to put out his writings for constructive feedback not bashing. He is telling of a fictional business he plans to open as an adult where they will sell his Super Comics.
